    Hi,

TA-1095 owner in France, I've got the November security patch this morning (V2.95B). Everything seems to be working fine, but no sign of pie yet...
    Même chose
    Tjs rien aujourd'hui
I’ve just received it Maxime! V3.45A, in France, bought it on Amazon and using Orange, if that’s any help.
  • Still no sign of Android 9, or December patch for my TA-1100, on 3/UK. Very disappointed to put it mildly.

I appreciate that Nokia have different builds, and want to release patches in a controlled manner that avoids build issues and overloading their infrastructure. The lack of prompt Security patches for those on delayed upgrade paths is a VERY poor decision, and the total lack of information is also poor.

All this implies is a lack of clear management, or in other words managed chaos.

    Me, too. Finally.
    Hi ikijibiki,
Did you update from 8.1 to 9.0 (V3.45A), looking at Update size: 1318.5 MB ?
When I update mine from 9.0 (V3.39A) to 9.0(V3.45A) Update size was 139.8 MB , as shown on image below:

Yes, I updated from  Oreo v 8.1, October security update. And so, suddenly I'm all up to date.

It seems they have different update paths within countries too. Some in the Netherlands already received their update. Mine is still ‘up to date’ on 8.1...

    Hi All,

I think we have to be patient, not everything depends on Nokia, others OEMs are involved in this process as well e.g Qualcomm (closed-source components), carriers, Google and so on… There are security vulnerabilities that affecting different components like Framework, Media Framework, System, Kernel components, Qualcomm components, Qualcomm closed-source components, etc…for additional info please refer to Android Security Bulletins – AOSP. My opinion is “be patient” and soon or later, you will get a monthly security update, if don’t and your device is not rooted or modified, please feel free to contact Nokia support, especially if you are running critical production applications on your Nokia device and need to patch it ASAP to comply with your company security standards.

Additional Nokia 7.1 has few models like TA-1085 / TA-1095 / TA-1096 / TA-1100 … and may have different hardware versions, on other hand some people are updating from 8.1 Oreo to 9.0 PIE December security patch (V3.45A), others from November security patch Android 9 PIE (V3.39A) to December Android 9 PIE (V3.45A), this need to be taken into consideration as well.

For the impatient, here is the link to Google security patch 2018-12 (V3.45A):

    https://bit.ly/2R4peju

!!! Important!!!  If you decide to install OTA update manually, you will do this at your own risk.

Please consider following requirements before proceeding:

This OTA update is for Nokia 7.1, Model: TA-1095, Hardware version: 3.0, Kernel version: 4.4.153-perf+, Baseband version: MPSS.AT.3.1-00777-GEN_PACK-1.173694.1
update from Version 9.0 PIE (Build: 00WW_3_39A) to version 9.0 PIE (Build: 00WW_3_45A).

    OTA file size: 139.8MB

OTA update can be applied via recovery from “Apply update from SD Card” or adb sideload <update.zip>.

I hope this has been informative for you, and I would like to thank you for reading it. ;)

Good Luck and Have Fun with your Nokia devices ;)

Thank you very much. The OTA worked. Now my TA-1100 ,in UK now with latest pie build v3.45A and Dec security update.
  • Is there FM radio in Nokia 7.1? Or not?
  • Tethering & Portable Hotspot feature is not available in 7.1 (after updated to Android 9.0 pie). In view of this, I am not able to connect my mobile date to my PC without usb cable??

In my previous phone (Gionee), go to setting, there will be a topic as ''More''. Click the 'More' it will take to other page which have 'Tethering & Portable hotspot' among other items.

Click on 'Tethering & Portable hotspot'' it will take to you to next page with:

    WLAN Hotspot
    USB Tethering
    Bluetooth Tethering
    Hotspot & Tethering settings

Then click on to ''WLAN Hotspot'' .we will get the portable hotspot( mobile data connected to PC)

    Whereas in Nokia 7.1

Go to Network & Internet, we get items like:

    WIFI Hotspot
    USB Tethering
    Bluetooth tethering

which means the 'Tethering & Portable hotspot'' is missing in 7.1 handset

The topic ''More'' is missing here.!!!

How to get this portable hotspot feature on Nokia 7.1 ???
  • Nokia 7.1 has volte sport phone.
But not volte sport with Idea Volte.
Please give update with Idea Volte.
  • Is there FM radio in Nokia 7.1? Or not?
    No FM in 7.1
  • I have the TA-1100 model, unlocked on the 3 network in the UK, and OTA is still not available.

Does anyone know what UK networks support the OTA, or when 3 connected phones will be upgraded?
  • For a long time, we are using a Nokia ... since schools 1997 and more. but now Nokia come up with new devices ... going Nokia forward.... we love to put strong lights in the front & rear camera..
  • With pie, the 7.1 is much more faster. This Android pie is really good ! Love the new nav bar.
  • We will not have a full Android experience until we can use the memory card as internal storage

TA1100 on three UK. I updated to pie shortly after getting the phone late November using the VPN method. Received v3.45 with Dec secuisec patch OTA last night (no VPN etc now)
  • TA-1100 updated OTA this morning, on 3 UK.

Vast improvement, the November security patch 10 days ago vastly improved the phone, removing many lags and delays.

This mornings upgrade to Android Pie and December patch have further improved performance to very acceptable.

Well done Nokia, but please next time publish an expected release schedule and keep it up to date as things change.
  • Christmas miracle! TA-1100 pie updates are rolling in the UK.

I've just received a notification that the update is available (UK), but I'm nervous about installing it. I'd be grateful if other users could confirm that it's stable on the 7.1. A couple of users elsewhere are reporting overheating, and when the update first appeared in November there were several reports of bricking. Has this issue been sorted out?

I can confirm that from my perspective is it is a great release, but still early days.

Performance has definitely improved. The only negatives where the usual panics about Standard or Evie desktops, and re-connecting my Garmin watch.
  • Pie update works great. Only one annoying issue with a delayed volume control. It Iags a second or two.

I have got android 9 pie on my Nokia 7.1 phone in UK
  • No issues with Pie update on my 7.1 in UK this morning. Good improvement.
  • Thanks, all. I've just done the update and all seems to be working OK so far.
  • How do remove the Google search bar after Pie update
  • Even after Android 9 update, still unable to adopt SD card as internal storage. Will this feature be activated? Plus palm rejection still sucks... I'm very disappointed with this device
  • Pleased to have received the pie update (UK) today. Seems okay so far.
  • Just updated to pie and Dec security patch on my TA-1100 on EE in the UK running super smooth
