Thanks singhnsk for your response. But in several articles about nokia 8.1 device, there is the report that converts SDR to HDR in real time. You can search it on Google . Thanks again.
I have a nokia 8 that auto shut downs around 5% battery and whenever that happens it deletes all my fingerprints. Not only that, but it doesn't allow me to set up the same fingers until I do a manual restart because supposedly those fingers are already registered, but the list of fingerprints is empty and the scanner lock doesn't recognize anything. Does anyone else have this problem because i can't find it anywhere

Looks like a software issue. Although you could get better assistance in the Nokia 8 forum.
When i download pdf in my sd card from chrome, chrome stops working and pdf that is downloaded opens blank but if i download it in phone storage it works fine...
Is this with me or anybody else is facing this too..
Will the Nokia 8.1 receive an official flip case? I've been disappointed that I can't find any one your website, and I worry that I'll be dropping my phone a lot as it's made from glass.

Tons of third party back covers /cases available which will protect your phone just fine. Check on Amazon /AliExpress.

I'm considering buying this phone, coming from a galaxy note 4. But how is the display compared to a Super-Amoled qhd, 500+ ppi?
I tried a Nokia 7 plus last year in a store and I thought the display was awful compared to my note 4.

that's gonna happen.. u were using QHD display that too of Samsung's Super Amoled.. The best displays ever..
Nokia 8.1 has an HDR 10 supported IPS LCD Panel not as good as the Super Amoled ones but you can feel like a low quality AMOLED display .. My opinion

I came from an LG G3 and an LG G5. The drop from QHD is noticeable. But I can live with it.
Ive recently bought a nokia 8.1 however I'm unable to send photos through SMS, especially to iPhone and it's really annoying me. Is this a glitch or can I change it in settings? I have tried a lot in settings and can't find it
I've recently upgraded my phone from an old apple 5 phone. And am finding the setting etc very different

Nokia used to be one of the world's biggest mobile phone manufacturers but it fell behind with the advent of iPhone and Android smartphones. In 2014, Nokia's Devices and Services division was sold to Microsoft. In 2016, Finnish company HMD Global bought a part of Microsoft's feature phone business and has a licensing agreement that allows it to make smartphones under the Nokia brand.
5, 6, 7, 8. Nope, we aren’t about to launch in some dance routine but we are actually referring to the names of the Nokia smartphones صندلی فلزی . Bizarre nomenclature aside, if there’s a brand – other than Honor -- that has been in absolutely prolific form when it comes to launching smartphones then its HMD Global with its Nokia handsets. There have been as many as 12 new Nokia smartphones launched in 2018. However, as the old adage goes, it’s the quality and not the quantity that matters. To be fair to HMD, it has made a sincere attempt to bridge the gap between quantity and quality as Nokia smartphones this year look good.
Joining that horde is the new Nokia 8.1 and no it’s not an extension of the Nokia 8 Sirocco which was launched earlier this year in April. That was a “flagship” device while the Nokia 8.1 is juxtaposed between a flagship and a mid-ranger as it has the looks of the former but price and features of the latter. Priced at Rs 26,999, the Nokia 8.1 will lock horns with a lot of other brands in what is slowly becoming a really competitive segment. We used the Nokia 8.1 and here is what we think of the device:
Nokia 8.1 Design
HMD Global seems to have found the magic beans when it comes to designing the smartphones. As we have seen in the past with the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7.1, the company has upped its design game. The Nokia 8.1 is no different as this is a seriously well-designed smartphone. It blends glass, metal, curves, aluminium seamlessly to give you a phone that’s really good looking.
The frame of the phone has Series 6000 aluminium and it’s a refreshing change from all the gradient combinations we have seen with other smartphones. This a sturdily built smartphone which is surrounded by steel accents that give it a classy and premium look. Both the front and the back have 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection. The glass back is reflective but isn’t prone to that many fingerprints and smudges.
Nokia 8.1 has the SIM card tray on the left side whereas the power button and volume rockers find a place on the right hand side. At the back you’ll find the fingerprint sensor along with a dual rear camera module which is slightly protruding. The phone is on the bulkier side but doesn’t feel one bit and is pretty good for one-handed operations. Design is clearly one of the strongest points of the Nokia 8.1
Nokia 8.1 Display
Keeping in line with Nokia 7.1, the Nokia 8.1 gets something called PureDisplay screen. What this technology does is that it gives higher contrast and HDR10 support. When compared to competition, this is a feature that HMD is touting the most as others don’t have anything like that. On the 6.18-inch display which comes with FHD+ resolution, the PureView tech does seem to add some sheen.
The PureView display works quite well for all sorts of viewing. Be it streaming Netflix content or watching YouTube videos there is a sense of sharpness is the display. The colour reproduction is also much better than what we have seen on, say, the Poco F1 or the Vivo V11.
The display works fine indoors but it is quite reflective when put under direct sunlight. Having said that the viewing angles are good and the while balance is also pretty apt.
Nokia continues to use the notch and here as well there is a slightly biggish looking notch. The notch isn’t one of HMD Global’s strongest point and the wideness of it did bother us a bit. Still, the overall experience is quite good and better than competition.
Nokia 8.1 Performance
After the PureView display, the other feature that has been talked about is the processor that powers the Nokia 8.1 The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 which is a new chipset and the only other phone to have it on board is the Oppo R17 Pro.
The processor – more than the display – is the highlight of the Nokia 8.1 as it is fast and makes the phone a worthy buy. The processor is میز فلزی what makes the Nokia 8.1 ‘flagship’ as you can’t have any complaints about its performance. At the heart of the Snapdragon 710 is an octa-core chipset with a clock speed of 2.2GHz. Nokia 8.1 comes with 4GB variant and if you’re just going by the specs on the paper then you’ll be surprised. The processor coupled with 4GB RAM does as good a job as a 6GB RAM phone would do.
What has always given Nokia smartphones is that they offer pure Android experience. Nokia 8.1 is no different in that sense as it is an Android One phone that runs the latest OS and has no unwanted apps or what we refer to as bloatware. In short you get the best of Android OS experience and features without any customised UI hampering the experience.
All the routine tasks are handled perfectly and there isn’t a hint of stutters or lags. Gaming is where the two best features of Nokia 8.1 shine through. There’s an Adreno 616 GPU on board which makes gaming a true delight. Games such as Real Cricket or PUBG which are graphic-intensive games run on high graphics. In fact, we tried playing Real Cricket on very high graphics mode and still didn’t encounter any lag. Moreover, the device doesn’t heat up at all while indulging in those long gaming sessions.
It has to be said that the Nokia 8.1 offers a better wholesome experience because of its fast processor and the pure Android experience.
Nokia 8.1 Camera
Before we delve into the camera performance, let’s get the specs out of the way. Nokia 8.1 features a 12MP primary sensor that comes with 1.4 micron pixel and f/1.8 aperture. The secondary camera at the back is a 13MP camera. The front camera is a 20MP sensor for the selfie brigade.
The Zeiss lenses on Nokia phones are known to click images with fair amount of detailing, which is what we found with the Nokia 8.1 as well. Most of the images we clicked were sharp and clear and even the colour reproduction was quite natural. Portrait images clicked with the Live Bokeh mode also come out fairly well. But all this is in well-lit conditions. Move to low-light conditions and the camera performance drops compared to well-lit conditions. However, overall performance of the rear camera is more than acceptable.
The front camera also manages to click detailed selfies but there’s some sense of artificialness when compared to rear camera. The images look a bit saturated than what we would’ve liked to see. The Portrait mode on the front camera does manage to get the right amount of detailing.
I am a bit annoyed by the bokeh mode in Camera, it is super laggy especially with much details scene like trees for example. When I open Camera with bokeh mode loaded already, the Camera shuts down. Then I have to restart the app again. Please fix this guy I really hope that we can have a big update on the Camera because I love this phone so much.
