@Badri Raj every 8.1 user has been facing front camera over exposure issue and it is known issue by moderator and team, they are working on it.
And software update not able to connect to WiFi is not issue as I told you earlier but yeah it supposed to take hotspot data as WiFi I don't know why it still recognise as mobile data.

Yeah, sound is bit shrill due to one speaker. :)

  • I brought Nokia 8.1 1 month back. I facing WiFi problem on my phone.
  • Hey guys what about touchscreen is it responsive to you. I mean it feels like it lags a bit when pinching to zoom , scrolling , playing games. Whats your expreience
  • Got the Nokia 8.1 recently because I used to like Nokia phones before they dropped their N900 for Microsoft phones. After the N900 I gone with Samsung.
I am really not impressed by the Nokia 8.1.
The interface is a learning curve from previous phones. I'm not sure if it is a faulty unit or not but sometimes the touch is unresponsive. It drives me crazy! The sound is also a problem. If I am listening to music and get a call, the sound does not return to the music app. I have to unplug and plug back the headphones with the app playing to restore sound to the headphones. Never had this problem with Samsung older phones. I was expecting something better than my 3 years old Samsung.
  • Whenever i download pdf files in my sd card from chrome, chrome abruptly stops and the file downloaded is blank when opened...but if downloaded in mobile storage it works just fine...

    Anybody else facing this issue..?
    Could it be resolved?

The HDR-capable display supports both Netflix and YouTube videos in HDR, the ones that are actually uploaded in HDR that is. This makes the Blacks incredibly deep for an LCD panel and the dynamic range improves too. I quite enjoyed watching videos on this panel. I can tell you with confidence that this is the best display you can find on a phone in this price range.

91 Mobiles: Ever since its comeback, we’ve had high hopes from Nokia in the camera department. That’s because even before the current crop of camera-centric smartphones, Nokia has been there and done that. Crazy megapixels? Check. Ability to click RAW photos? Check. High-quality optics? Check. … If my experience with the Nokia 8.1 is anything to go by, the brand has a winner on its hands.

BGR: After using the Nokia 8.1 for a couple of days, primarily to click photos, I must say, I’m finally impressed with the Nokia camera. Nokia seems to have really worked hard on the camera aspect, and some credit can also be given to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC which comes with the new Spectra 250 engine with support for noise reduction and image stabilization for low-light photography. The chipset also supports real-time bokeh effects, even with a single camera setup.

Android Central: The elegant design coupled with the robust hardware makes the Nokia 8.1 hold its own in this category. There aren't many Android One phones in the mid-range segment, and for those looking for uncluttered software and fast updates, the Nokia 8.1 will be the default option in 2019.

Android Authority: The AI-powered Snapdragon 710 is a solid chipset and the Nokia 8.1 could give you the impression of flagship innards in your daily drill. With 4GB of RAM, the smartphone just blazes through anything thrown at it.

FoneArena: Ending the year on a high note, the Nokia 8.1 focusses on the fundamentals and makes improvements on the essentials. The display on top is also far superior than we have seen in other high-end devices and the Snapdragon 710 surely looks promising. Even the camera seems like a decent performer and all things combined, the Nokia 8.1 surely looks promising.

The Mobile Indian: the Nokia 8.1 is a pretty interesting device to watch out for. @santoshh
Happened with me too 2 days ago but the video is saved there in your phone with its file extension as " .mp4.tmp " file .. Open the mobile storage in desktop/pc/laptop and change the file name extention to " .mp4 " file and then you can relive your moment .. worked for me
  • dull display, I didn't expect this kind of experience with Nokia 8.1, HDR 10 pure display looks like just gimmick, same priced lg g7 is far much better option in this price range, camera app is worst thing in Nokia devices, it works better with gcam only, I don't know why Youtubers praising the main camera on Nokia 8.1, even low price samsung devices take better sharp photos without any softness in photos, gcam software is not properly optimised for Nokia 8.1, it doesn't give you best experience as seen on pixel devices.
  • Nokia 8.1 doesn't support sdr to HDR conversion as seen on Nokia 7.1, Nokia 7.1 looks much premium compared to Nokia 8.1

LG G7 has Oled display which will be better than any IPS LCD Display.. LG G7 is better true but not everyone trust the LG as for the updates and Nokia 8.1 Rear Camera is indeed very good as per my usage. We use modded GCAM and not the official GCAM so no control for optimisation.

It may be a lot of things but dull is not one of them. Unless you didn't check the specs and were expecting an OLED display.
