where can I find that? I have Nokia 3.1 Plus, the worst part is that it only has 16gb of internal storage and I can't move my downloaded apps to external storage and The system updates is taking up almost half of my internal storage!

Hello,

I have purchased Nokia 6.1 two days ago. I can't find the option to make the sd card to internal storage. There is only a format option in the storage settings of sd card. Can't find the option "format and make as internal storage". I tried different SD cards but no option to format and make internal storage. Contacted nokia chat support and done all the things they have mentioned like hard reboot, reinsert card, clearing app cache of system ui and Android system etc etc.

Nokia, please check if the conversion of SD card to internal option is available for Nokia 6.1. If not please fix that bug in the coming update. Do i need to use any specific type SD card needed for this operation?

Please reply.

I have a Nokia 3.1 Plus, which is like the latest from Nokia and it's still has this same issue, I bought the 16GB version (biggest mistake!) So, system apps take up a whole 10GB leaving me with just 6GB and after I downloaded Asphalt 8, my storage was as good as finished, I thought I'd be able to expand it for more apps like PubG, but here I am....... Struggling with about 100-200MB of internal storage.
Right now, I'd have to delete some of my apps just to download even a 30MB application. THIS. IS. REALLY.. BAD

If you have the 32GB and 3GB RAM version of the Nokia 3.1 Plus, please let me know how much of space system apps take up and if 32GB is enough for your apps, cause that's the highest available variant.

Same problem bro, I have tried everything. I downloaded apps that moves apps to sd card, formatted my sd card in hopes that I will see the change button they where saying, gosh this phone is so bad! I factory resetted this phone so that that I can lower the system apps, I can't even see the options to stop the auto updates. I already enable the developer's option but no difference. On the good note I can transfer music, videos and photos to the sd card but still, I love playing games in my phone, I guess this is not the right phone for games huh?

Moving your apps into external storage isn't as convenience as it seems. It can get corrupted anytime and yoully lose all your data. Like I had a situation the other day with my 32gb Samsung Evo class 10sdhc. Which I generally used to store media and files. However I have one small suggestion for you that you backup all your pictures to google photos and delete the original files from your phone. And install alternative apps of the big system apps like maps go for google maps, and other android go apps. Of course the experience wouldn't be as superior as it is with the original apps but that's what you have to live with for a device with 16gb of internal storage. I have done the same after I lost my sd card but I am not going to compromise on my apps so I am now left with around 7gb of storage and uninstalled apps that I don't really need. And clear the cache of apps when it's taking too much space.
• I recently buy Nokia 6.1.
And have no idea about this problem of not support as card as internal..
In this time with out this feature running a phone of 32 GB is impossible..
However I search I find the Oreo8.1 of this phone have that feature... Pls #nokiadeveloper resolve this problem with a upcoming is update...

Well I read all comments and reply and I would like to share a solution where you can have your app stored in your sd card and I want to tell you all that you can use any sd card that works with the device.first enable developer option then go to developer settings just scroll down and you will find and option named"Force allow apps on external" just enable it and restart your device and you are good to go!

• try this video.

Wow, all my pictures wiped! Just did a sm partition private and pressed the Migrate data... (without reboot) Looks like all files are now file based encrypted (or not and encrypted on the fly). Didn't find a way reversing it.

Amazing that I can destroy data without root but not undo it. Reading out any encryption keys does not work as well without root. Thought rooting might be possible with bootloader unlock, but Nokia's apk can't be executed.

On the sm tool there are some undocumented commands that will not bring any benefit. WTF. thanks Android and Nokia for wasting my time. Isn't there any moderator that could place a warning on the first page?

Now have to wait for a working bootloader unlock (without wiping device) or a quantum machine that can solve the 64 bytes fscrypt known plaintext AES encryption...

EDL also might be an option - but this is not worth the effort.

I don't understand the principle behind the encryption if I as legitimate owner have no access to the encryption keys.

And Nokia/HMD: What is this one-time login link?!? Can't you just supply or let us choose a password?

Wish back the good old times with Nokia 3310, FSIG etc. :-)

I didn't do anything but my pictures are back.
When I gave up I did the following steps:
• Full backup of SD card
• Migrate data from SD back to phone
• removed the SD card with the sm tool
• created a backup of the corrupted pictures from the phone (USB)
• Wrote the above post
2 days ago I just figured out that all my pictures are visible again. I didn't do anything (especially no OS update). I don't use any cloud backup.

Looks like there is any magic self healing occuring :o Maybe it just takes a lot of time for the phone to recrypt the data?

I don't know ... but I'm happy ;-)
