So looking forward to the update, but a little bit skeptical about it, based on the reports I'm reading here about it draining battery life
  • I was happy with nokia 5 (TA-1053) with very good battery life, now the January I got pie update I eagerly done update but now I feel my battery drain faster than previous orieo update
I request to Nokia hmd global team take immediate action towards the battery drain issue
Even without using phone got loose charge and got heating even in cooldown place
I think adaptive battery system ,and battery optimisation won't work, even though I cut off usage of whatapp I feel it working in background massage are getting
I still love nokia I expect nokia will solve the issue

    Hi everyone,

We recently produced an infographic which explains, in detail, the planning, work, and processes that the HMD team has to go through to make Android software rollouts happen.

I am keeping this post short, because I think the infographic does a much better, in-depth, job at explaining the workflow. But it would be great to know what you think about it.

    Here's the link: https://www.hmdglobal.com/images/download/android/recipe-for-pie.pdf

    Very Interesting roadmap

There's also this interview with Juho which provides some more information: https://www.androidauthority.com/interview-juho-sarvikas-android-pie-945311/

  • Great information to know and it's great to share the team software work with the rest of us

Aren't you ashamed of fooling people.
India is one of the top best countries in receiving Android updates and it was displayed all over the world that it released pie in December .It's halfway through febrFebr and no signs of pie yet , which means the update is delayed by more than two months.Pure Android is supposed to be receiving the updates first , but the company is giving more impotancim to Android one phones. This phone coats 40000 INR and it sucks .Many Devices which cost 10000 INR has received the updates. It has useless .cameras and which turns blind at night. Its a shame to Nokia.

Android updates, including both security patches and major versions, are something that many people value. Granted, some are afraid of new updates as they can change things around and sometimes new bugs or performance issues might surface. For the most part, though, new Android updates are important and vital to the platform. The entire process that an Android update goes through is incredibly complex, though, so Sony just released an infographic to help illustrate the entire process.

Could you please explain if Project Treble is live and is it already in use in Nokia?
Project treble is indented in my nokia 6.1 phone.

  • Would recommend that those that haven't received their Android pie update yet speak to your carrier, if it's a carrier device, like I did. After putting pressure on my carrier they could tell me when pie would be released. They knew exactly when and it was as they said. At least I knew and was able to do it before hand on my 8 Sirocco. It's not always Nokia to blame here, is what I want to say.
  • When will the Nokia 3.1 get Android pie

@Fahad Vaheed which model phone are you talking about?
@bilotola do you mean this one which was released last year or another more recent one? Please reference.

  • I don't think it was right to be updating even apps like phone and message.these are the basic apps.

  • Does anyone know when the update will come to the UK for 3.1 the pie update?
  • I don't think it'll be long now for generic UK handsets, operator branded ones might take a little longer due to the extra approval needed. Mines generic and I haven't got it yet.
