Great news everyone!

@dtelang456 very strange you got a South African model. Have you asked HMD if they will replace it with an Indian model? According to this website the TA-1100 should work with all frequencies in India so it should not be a problem for you, but if you want to be certain then I agree you need the model specific for India (the TA-1097).

Overall though, if it's not the model or configuration you want then I suggest you sell it and use the money to buy the exact phone you do want.
