I feel happy that all our Nokia phones are part of Android One program and get regular monthly update.
But when such critical issue is fixed in update why HMD ensures the all Nokia will get the update under Pure-secure and up-to-date policy.
In addition, why HMD release Info-graphic (for critical patch only) so Nokia customers will able to know when their model will get secure from critical vulnerability. (Suggestion)
For model TA-1083, TA-1021 and TA-1032 this PNG bug will get fixed in February 2019 update?

  • @madbilly: how to check critical vulnerability has been fixed for three forms (CVE-2019-1986, CVE-2019-1987, and CVE-2019-1988). In short, do you thing Nokia should mention the critical PNG bug is fixed in what's new section of the February update (2019)?
  • PNG bug is fixed mentioned in NPU link: https://nokiapoweruser.com/nokia-5-1-plus-gets-new-pie-build-with-february-security-update/
But not in What's new section of update. See image provided in the link.
I think that, mention should be in above mentioned section since:
The vulnerability was critical and it was in news.

I think this topic would be better in the subforum specific to your phone, however...

As far as I can recall there are actually two kinds of Android security update every month. One is always dated the 1st of each month, and the other is normally dated the 5th of the month. Both are essentially the same with some minor differences which I can't find any good explanation for at the moment.

However, whichever of the two dates you have, it is the month which is important. And that month should always contain all of the updates listed by Google in the security bulletins here: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin

If you haven't got the February security patch yet then I'm not surprised - hardly any phones have received the February security patch. I think HMD's Nokia phones have only just started to get these updates. I know you want it now, but HMD still need to test it oin every phone, package and distribute - I'd rather have a late but fully tested and stable update than a rushed and buggy one.

As for the content of the patches, I agree that HMD could give more information, at least to confirm that it includes all updates listed in the Android security bulletin.

    Cheers
