Reposting for benefit of all Nokia 1 users as a separate topic....
It is possible to run Nokia 1, quite fast. The default memory configurations is badly done, that's all. I hope somebody at Nokia reads this and fixes it in next update.
Here is what is happening:
With only 1 GB of RAM, the task killer is configured to be extremely aggressive and removes practically every single process from RAM, as soon as it goes to background. Except very few processes, largely, the RAM remains free of any processes.
Say for example, you open messages app, scroll down... meantime the launcher is killed. When you press Back button, the launcher reloads from extremely slow 8GB flash drive.
The problem is very easy to fix:
1. Go to Settings. Search for "Optimisation"
2. Find Battery optimization.
3. Change "launcher3" to "Not optimized"
4. Apply "Not Optimized" to other similar apps, like "Phone", "Contacts", "Phone and Contacts Storage", "Clock"
And there you go!!!
Your phone will be very fast, with no lags.
What happens when you set to "Not Optimized"?. Basically, the process stays cached. When u press "Back", the process is immediately available.
Cannot imagine why Nokia would make launcher non-cacheable!
