Nokia 8 February security update

@HMD_Laura can you please tell us if this next update you're talking about is only security patch, or does it also contain the stupidly overdue bug fixes?

Also, since you seem to have finally (urghhh...) connected with the development teams: what's the status of the promised camera software fixes and adjustments? The device is close to EOL and the damned camera app is still flaky af! I'm so close to giving you reasons to ban me, out of frustration!

Hi @HMD_Laura!

Thank you for sharing this information with us, I have to say I'm relieved to get some news, especially about the 5 and 6, although it would also be appreciated to get some confirmation on the support end date for those models.

I really hope that you providing this information is the start of a new approach from HMD. As I've said elsewhere, all we need is a little bit of time from one or two people on each model each week and we'll make progress quickly.

Oh, "great". HMD will roll out (presumably 😂) next week the march security update for the Nokia 8. Only a security update? In my mind this is absolutely useless. That, what the Nokia 8 needs, is a maintance update to reapair the many bugs.

And, what it needs, is a/ the new better version of/ for the terrible camera-app.

We will see. In the moment Laura speaks only about s security update, not more. I'm afraid, next week will be only available a/ the "pure" march security update. 

To compare. For the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus the april security update is available since today. 👍 Without problems. 👍👍👍

maybe they always mean both Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco when saying "Nokia 8"? I know they also call Nokia 8.1 often as "Nokia 8" on social media...

The update was late and it was just a SP? What the heck hmd doing lately? Thats the reason why some of smartphone users here in my country having a second thought buying nokia even we have a strong nokia community.

Please do something(not stupid please)HMD, dont forget the old ones.

Please Give Nokia 8 a stable pie build and camera software.

is there something to be heard about pie v5.140? February security update? I see it being discussed from March to April, when we are updating from January?

Here are some issues I hope are fixed for (my) Nokia 8 running Pie with the next update:

-Phone freezes, usually once per day
 (always when switching between apps).

-Fingerprint sensor does not work half the time.

-Performance issues, lagging between screens at times.

I haven't noticed anything with GPS or the Camera.

I don't think issues that you're experiencing are caused by Pie bugs. Have you tried factory reset?

you do not have a Nokia 8 but a disaster. do a hard reset

5 may is the last day when we should receive february update or newer, globally available(90 days as google promise for enterprise device). After that all of us should fill a complain for not delivering the promised security update. Anyway this is not nokia we use to know and for me this is a big no no to this company.

I just hope they will NOT release only Android security patch just to prevent breaking their obligation of providing security updates and to give themselves another few months to continue "burning the midnight oil" which is their code for doing nothing to fix bugs in the firmware and camera app.

You forgot Nokia 3.1 TA-1063. In Italy under Kena Mobile (TIM MVNO mobile operator) the phone is still at build 2.68 SP 02 with February SP. No Pie 9 update nor March or April SP...and we're on April 15th
