No the latest security patch updating has not helped to resolve the problem. Still the problem persist. Really frustrating. Can't take photos or access Google maps...!!!!
- automatic restart when battery percentage falls
- automatic restart if opening any or most camera apps
- sound from speaker is stuttering on full volume
- automatic restart if charger is removed
- auto restart if turning on wifi
- auto restart on doing full brightness
This is an issue with the battery, you have to get it replaced in order to fix the above issues. A new original replacement battery from the service centre here costs ₹2850 (about $40)

anyone try this??
I would suggest we all should go for OnePlus mobile from now onwards, the Nokia people are **** freak looking just for business. Guys I took the right step with OnePlus 7 pro now it's your turn come with me and experience the best mobile community. #NokiaIsDead
I'm yet another user from India who can confirm all these problems in the last 3 months. 1. Extremely slow charging 2. Random freezes with a beep and reboot. Initially it was rare but now it gives up randomly, 5-10 times a day. 3. Camera causes instant reboot. 4. Very distracted audio of notifications. Alarm and message tones especially. 5. Definitely reboots when trying antutu benchmark meaning any process intensive task is causing reboots. Whenever the processor needs high power, it reboots. 6. Again, like other users mentioned. No issues when charger is plugged in.
Guys even I'm out of warranty and this phone is unusable now. HMD has through bad updates broken our devices and we paid big amount for this so called 'flagship'. We should definitely start a petition and spread the word so that HMD fixes whatever this mess is.
Kindly reply, retweet and like these tweets. We need to get some attention to this problem. Otherwise in a few months it's a lot of money down the drain.
I am facing similar problem like 1. when i open camera app phone will restart, 2. phone will automatically restart when power is low, 3. Touch response is sluggish, 4. Phone audio output is low. This all problems have started only after Andriod 9 update. Nokia / HMD Global haven't replied to my email query. Hope they resolve the problems in upcoming update.

Please go to service centre. Faulty battery is the issue. Replace the same. Charge is about 2300/-. Post new battery the phone runs ekdum taka taka. So change the battery and the enjoy the battery.

Are you sure the problems discussed here are related to the battery?
Hi! I literally have the same problem with my Nokia 8 phone as well. Back then it only restarts when I open my camera app and when its around 30% app. Now even at 100% it restarts by itself whenever I open ANY app and when its not charged. Also, its speakers have the same problem as yours as well when its fully volumed 😩 Maybe this is Nokia's way of telling you to buy a new phone after a year.

@Akemi Kujo what amazes me is that as suggested by a few that it's a battery fault, how can so many people have faulty batteries all of a sudden?
And I don't think this has got anything to do with the battery honestly, because the battery life is just fine.
But I have found a slight workaround. Disable default camera app. Use Gcam BSG versions..
This should allow us to use camera for the time being.
I want to go to the service center but I don't trust them. Maybe the software is bad and if they don't accept it, all they would ask me to do is change the battery/motherboard.
Had the same problem, changed battery all is fine now. Phones restarting in low charge, while opening camera, stuttering sound at max volume, etc., All these problems come when the battery just couldn't provide the juice required. Costed about ₹2800.

Yes. Earlier also one gentleman on this forum has given this solution. I didn't take it seriously for my phone. However one fine day the battery was charging and went to service centre with detailed explanation. They asked me to change the battery. And thereafter the phone is working back to normal. Thats the solution

Any official specifications on battery life expectancy i.e. how many hours usage in total, how many times in total it can be recharged before requiring replacement ? Perhaps it's not good practice to keep recharging battery too often...instead use until near empty then recharge it all the way till full (no interruptions) then use until near empty then recharge...that pattern of usage in order to maximise overall battery life span ?

The service centre person said don't charge the battery overnight and charge them when they are less than 10% even usb charging affects.

Guys, It turned out to be a battery problem. I kept the phone in cold weather without the case and it damaged battery since It's made of aluminium and aluminium conducts heat better than plastic. I have changed the battery and it's working all great. Hope you guys have resolved the issue too!!
I've already sent my Nokia 8 to the service center because of this issue, they changed the motherboard and charging port, but the issue persists.
Dude, it's a battery issue. They told me to change the motherboard too but I didn't listen and told them to change the battery instead and it's working fine. Hope your phone is in warranty

That is why I'm having doubt on Nokia Phones right now, even they're service centers here are not reliable and dont know how to pick the real issues on Nokia Phones. I'm planning to take my unit back to the service center, and ask for the replacement of battery. Thanks
Yes my unit is in warranty, I'm been using it for almost 5 months but my battery already worn out already.
