These developer previews @HMD_Laura i tell you are NOT WHAT GOOGLE DELIVERS TO ITS DEVICES.Not even netflix works! some random guy said netflix veta works but why should i have to go to an unauthorised place to download an unauthorised APK to watch something that i paid money for!? This is the exact kinda thing google and other competent companies does best! These are useless builds literally i didn't even last 30 mins of Android q installation and i was looking forward to this so long! and you guys screwed up soo bad! And you have been telling that OTA will be made available from june, guess what it more than mid-august! and no one is buying you bullshit! I mean no offence as the device is ROCK SOLID in Android 9, but still with bugs here and there nothing we can't handle because of your incompetent programmers. @matteo.m @HMD_Laura Let me make this clear! I have been working in software industry long enough to say what is possible and what is not! There are so many things to be learned and personal problems in live as developers that makes our work harder but for a company of your stature this is bad news. One plus is doing a better job than you guys! The thing you delivered last DP5 is very unstable that it can't be even used without it being restarted every one hour or which in my case froze to death! You guys don't even deliver security patch like essential phones who release SP as soon with only up to one day delay! And you guy should know better to reply to our concerns communicating ours with developers and replying ous concerns with as why it happened and a deadline for fix (something that you guys cant come up with. Like OTA keep dreaming about it). And about the announcement that you guys made in the developer preview page that everyone on DP3 should upgrade to 5! how clueless are you people? you guys should have broadcasted it here in the forums too because most people come here daily basis rather that browsing at a single page that lies about OTA ETA each and every month. ASK YOUR INCOMPETENT DEVELOPMENT TEAM TO EITHER DELIVER IT WITH WORKING CONDITIONS OR DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING THIS AT ALL!
Now coming to Security patches and the time taken to deliver them. You blame HMD Global for not delivering latest security patch in a day or two like Essential does for its "phones". Tell me how many phones does Essential update every month. The answer is ONE. ONLY ONE. HMD Global has to push the latest monthly security patches to TWENTY TWO devices every month. Not just high-end phones but even the low-end Nokia 1 gets monthly security patches. Do you think it is so easy to push the updates to all devices in a day or two after Google releases it?
Any person who wants to try the Developer Preview will need to register their device and for that he/she will head to the Dev Preview webpage where all the information is mentioned in complete detail. The page also says that they are working on OTA rollout which will be released this month if all goes well.
I just want to say that be polite in the forum and there's no need to get so angry over a Dev Preview Build. If you are facing bugs you can u report them directly from your phone which will help the devs in fixing those bugs. That's the right place to report bugs.9 -

I am not ignorant. It is you who still says you expected too much from people who can't deliver a standard even after knowing they have to test the new patch on 22 phones and then release it.
Many installed this build. All have different issues. Did you even try a reset after you installed the Dev Preview to see if it fixed some issues? I don't think so. You just tried to use it as a daily driver by restoring your 200 or so apps at startup itself. It didn't go well and now you are getting angry. Dev Previews are not for everyone. So, wait for the official Android Q as that's the thing you need.5 -
Fun fact: HMD Global doesn't call it beta. Beta software is rolled out via Nokia Beta Labs.This is a developer preview and you can technically call it an alpha software. Android Q hasn't reached a feature freeze state yet and hence quite easily HMD cannot stabilize it yet. Google makes it stable for its own devices. Then HMD needs to make it compatible with it's own vendor libs to work with all the components that go in its phone and that isn't a child's task. It will be refined over time. A lot of those who used the 4011 build said that 4077 was more usable, there were those with opposite voices too. Tbh, differs from user to user, their used apps and their carriers too.Sure, software teams, their experiences and their ways to work differ. The software is/was handled by FIH Mobile, which isn't known for the best software and yeah that's one hurdle for HMD itself. Thankfully there has been a shuffle, but that'll affect future devices, not current. For a company as young as HMD, such issues are easy to arise. Not saying that they can get off with it, but I wouldn't shout hard for a software which is only pushed out for those who are willing to try it early and see it being developed. Nobody ever recommended the Developer previews to be installed by those who aren't willing to fight their ways around bugs.TL;DR: Just stop complaining in that harsh of a tone. It is a developer preview after all. I'll join voice when they ship the version marked as stable and yet has bugs like this one.8

They r literally low on resources nd can't provide any alpha beta updates,
Last year they had dp for 2-3 devices with regular patch releases .
If Nokia will not intervene now ,I don't think HMD will continue much1 -

Hi @Kartik Gada and @singhnsk, I don't often get angry reading the forums but I did when reading some of the pathetic drivel written above. Thank you for replying in such polite, well-mannered and measured ways, you saved me ranting myself!Cheers2

My beta 5 has been up and running for over 24 hours and counting. I am not sure exactly why, but here is something I have tried.
Settings -> Developer Options -> Background Check -> White Balance [Off]1 -

Anantha Ramakrishnan said:Michael Hainbach said:Hi guys, am experiencing something strange with my Vodafone.de Multi-SIMs... I recently had te Nokia 8.1 on Pie and all was fine. I applied the upgrae to Q via Beta3 to Beta5 sucessfully - but I noticed the phone to try GSM, connect briefly (see the triangle and Vodafone.de), then off (triangle vanishes and Service not available) and cycling - until it decides to boot into recovery. The recovers message in red says "Android system could not be loaded. Your data is possibly corrupt... try again, back to factory"
At first I swapped the sim to the other Multi - and now the phone behaved fine - until I rebooted, now I have both SIMs behave the same. I can also swap to any other SIM (I also have t-mobile) and the phoen keeps working fine - unfortunately I only have one multi sim contract and only on vodafone to try...
Anyone else experiencing something alike??2 -

Well I used it for an hour or so and I couldn't listen to the other person on the line. Like it's totally blank. I can only listen to them when it's in speaker mode or using an earphone.
Also, after rolling back I am getting the old June Security Patch (59E_SP02) but not the August update which was released a week back (I did update the device before installing Beta 5). So why can't I get the August Patch till now ??!?? Not even the July update.. like please respond to the issue in build 5 and also release the August Patch.
P.S.
I can't even unregister from the developer portal even after rolling back to the public release!!!!
@matteo.m and @HMD_Laura please respond to this ASAP.2 -
The bug with the calling feature... Is everyone having the same issue??1
