Why the use of old processors for both phones?
Why not metal phones like before as glass sandwich design is not so durable.17 -
I really dig the design of the 7.2 (and 6.2!), especially the rear, but there's just this one thing I really miss. Nokia was well-known for having camera-centric phones with dedicated shutter buttons in the not-so-distant past. Is there a reason this hasn't been brought back for the Nokia 7.2, or for the newer Nokia phones in general? As for the front design, we've seen other manufacturers incorporate full, bezelless design, smaller v-notches, and even punch hole displays for their midrange phones, even HMD released one - the Nokia X71. Some were expecting this design for the 7.2, but it didn't turn out to be the case. Won't the similar design of the two confuse and/or make the 7.2 less appealing for consumers? And will HMD still release a phone with a punch hole display in the near future, as we've seen with the X71?
I really like how HMD has incorporated some of the unique Nokia designs into the new phones (the LED power button, the circular camera layout, etc), but some people think this is not enough and that the new phones are a bit too 'generic.' I know there's not much more companies can do to differentiate their phones, but does HMD plan on making more unique, more 'Nokia'-looking phones in the future? Perhaps something like the square-ish, symmetrical design of the Lumia 925?

Does Nokia 7.2 support fast charger(18watt)?
2 -
Does it have wireless charging?0
-
Will future phone have camera shutter buttons? Was about disappointed they didn't appear in the 7.2.5
-
come on sir, tell us about the new polycarbonate material frame. how did you came to that material.6
-
Just why bigger phone size? At this moment its not possible buy small mid-range phone. I am happy with my Nokia 7.1. And why alu frame anymore? I dont understand this trend...5

No any.2 -
What factored in the decision in making the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 extremely similar in design? The only way to tell the difference between the two phones are the color options, and the presence of frosted glass back and ZEISS logo on the camera module for 7.2.
Why not recycle the Nokia X71 that was released exclusively in China and Taiwan for the new generation 7 line?4 -

Why the removal of fast charging? Battery issues? Seems like a strange update to the 7.14
-
Hi Miika! I can't find your username, otherwise I'd tag you properlyWhy is the USB support only up to 2.0 over USB-C? That seems quite a dated technology to include in 2019. When the N1 tablet came out with this it was acceptable, but in 2019 I'm not sure it is.Cheers6
-
Why not include NFC in India? Is this to reduce cost or are there regulatory reasons?Cheers4
-
I've read that the Google Assistant button can't be remapped which seems strange when HMD seems to pride itself on giving users what they want. Please can you explain this odd choice?Cheers6
-
This is the first Nokia phone with a higher resolution camera than the Nokia 808... it has taken more than 7 years for the Nokia brand to re-enter the megapixel race! And you did it with... a smaller sensor, smaller pixels, a less effective Bayer filter and without the the PureView oversampling and lossless zoom algorithms. Why follow the trend with these quad-bayer many-but-small pixel cameras and not licence the original PureView algorithms and apply to the modern and more capable smartphone camera hardware? It seems strange that HMD seem to want to avoid using any Nokia technologies whatsoever. Speaking of which...10
-
The 7.2 includes 2-microphones for "spatial surround sound capture". Why aren't you using Nokia OZO Audio for this?Cheers7
-
I don't understand the reluctance of HMD to provide mid and high-range phones with removable batteries, and the 6.2 and 7.2 continue this trend. If the battery was user-replaceable we'd be able to buy two batteries and be able to use our phones to the full, not try and run them economically in case we forget to charge them overnight. Please can you explain this strange design decision?Cheers4
-
Do the 6.2 and 7.2 support exFAT on microSD cards greater than 32GB in capacity, as required by the SD association? https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/capacity/Cheers

The Nokia Lumias pioneered great display technology with the ClearBlack and PureMotionHD+ screens. How does PureDisplay compare to those?Cheers4
-
Please can you say which of the "RECOMMEND", "SHOULD" and "OPTIONAL" requirements in the Android 9 compatibility definition document the 6.2 and 7.2 support? https://source.android.com/compatibility/9/android-9-cdd.htmlFor example, OMTP headsets? My Nokia N8 headset is still the best smartphone bundled headset I've had, and I've had a Lumia 925 and Nokia 8 as well.Cheers0
-
Do the 6.2 and 7.2 support Super Sensitive Touch, otherwise known as Glove Mode, like the Lumias used to? If not please can you explain this backward step, which seems very strange for a phone which has Nordic design roots where the weather is generally colder than other places and therefore people tend to wear gloves more often?Cheers2
-
Why did you change from a metal back to a glass back on the 6.2? The 6 series has been known for durability but I would never trust a glass back on any phone as it shatters. What about using a polycarbonate back like the lumias?6
-
How did the green cyan color come about? A bit unusual color for a phone, but really beautiful to look at.4

Sir, why have you fixed the battery size at 3500 mah. I was really hoping 7.2 to have 4000 mah or more, but was disappointed. Many new phone buyers among my friends are not buying Nokia phones for this reason while we all are huge Nokia fans.1 -
On Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H the Nokia 7.2 is sold with 128gb of storage, but is listed as only having 4gb RAM. However, the Nokia website it states the phone comes in 64gb/4gb and a 128gb/6gb variants. Which is correct? I am purchasing the device in America, and is the 6gb ram not available? Also, is the Ice color coming to North America?0
-
Using Nokia 7.2 for almost 24 hours now. Very good design and in-hand feel but it is very slippery too. It fell on the hard floor while it was resting flat on a table. Thankfully nothing happened. There's no dent on the frame and the phone is fine. So, a very good build quality indeed.
Now, coming to my question. What colours were planned other than Ice, Cyan Green and Charcoal? Were there any other colours? Maybe you have a prototype of a Nokia 7.2 in a different colour which didn't launch. Can you show it if there is any?

Hi Miika,Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to answer our questions. The camera bump design is a change from all previous HMD phones, because it is round and not linear down the central back line of the phone. What is the reason for this change? Will we see this new design continued in future HMD phones?Cheers3
-
How come you have not included ZEISS optics on the 6.2 but the 6.1 did have ZEISS optics?Cheers9
-
What technical features in terms of image processing (as that is the only thing I think could prevent it) does the 7.2 have which means the ZEISS effects (swirl, modern, etc) and other camera app improvements won't be brought to existing HMD phones by way of a software upgrade?Cheers5
