No HDR quality option in YouTube videos.

I have found that Nokia 7.2 is not showing HDR quality option in YouTube where as it does show in the Nokia 8.1. Why is it so? Will we be able to see the HDR quality option in YouTube?

  • Nokia 7.2 automatically renders every SDR content to HDR with its dedicated PixelWorks Visual Graphics Processor. However you can enable or disable this feature on a specific application like Youtube as according the following screenshots:

Dude Good day!! But i couldn't see the HDR options available in youtube or Netflix after enabling this option.I think youtube needs add this device 7.2 to their directory for HDR streaming.

I had enabled this option already. I have compared my Nokia 7.2 with my Mom's Nokia 8.1(which have HDR option in youtube) and have found difference in both because of that missing HDR quality option. Although the colors looked better in 7.2 than that of 8.1, some areas turned fully black in 7.2 but the same were clearly visible in 8.1, that's what the difference was between HDR and a standard video.
