Cast screen not working after android 10 update

The cast screen option on my Nokia 8.1 is not working after the android 10 update. Has anyone else faced this issue?

It says "wifi direct unsupported device". What does this mean?

It's a Sony Bravia TV. It used to work with Android 9 in my nokia.

No my tv doesn't have any problem. Another samsung phone connects with it without any issue.

Yes. I contacted the support chat. They said that the wifi Direct is disabled in android 10

I reset the network settings, and the wifi Direct is still not accessible but the good news is that the cast screen is working now!😅 So thanks mate!

I have a Nokia 7 plus. I tried resetting my network settings also but cast screen didn't work on hotspot, without connecting to a wifi network. Do you have the solution for this?

There is a one simple solution guys!

I was facing the same problem but its changed by google i guess!

Wifi direct is inactive so you will not be able to cast screen on tv after windows 10.

The solution is that you have to turn on your location settings for wifi direct to work!

So if your location is on then you will be able to see wifi direct option active.

Also you would be able to cast your phone on TV.

Thank you so much for this solution. Wifi direct worked by your solution. I thought Wifi direct was inaccessible but it's got accessible only when i set location is on.
