Hi all, I recently read this article:
I recently read this article:
It made me think that this programme, run by the government in the USA to provide affordable smartphones to people without the financial means, with the idea of helping get them connected to internet-based government services, could easily be supplied by HMD rather than a no-name Shenzhen-generic brand which relies of dodgy malware to make profit from the programme.
HMD could use this to get a large number of American people familiar with the dependability of the Nokia brand and they wouldn't need to use dodgy malware to make a profit from it. I imagine that HMD could supply phones like the C1 at cost and use it as a no-cost-no-loss leader to improve brand familiarity.
I'm sure other countries have similar schemes, but I doubt many have as big a market with such potential value as the USA.
