Removing google search bar from home screen
If you don't use the Google app, can you uninstall or disable it and see if it removes it?
If not you'll have to switch to a third party launcher like Lawnchair, Nova Launcher, Action Launcher, etc.
You can't remove the Search Bar. The only possible way is to use a 3rd party launcher. And with that you lose the Android 9 recent screen. You'll revert to the classical recents screen.
I was also searching for the way to remove a search bar on the homescreen because I do not use Google app at all, but it seams that without third party launchers it's impossible. I would love if they just gave me an option to remove it from the homescreen like any other widget. And with the Android 10 update, it is now impossible to use gestures navigation in third party launchers. What a bummer.
Thanks, also can I have separate notification tone for SMS, mails etc.
Also notification ON/Off on locked screen is for all Apps? Not individual App?
Hi, you can set custom ring sounds for the apps which will support a custom tone. For example Gmail does support setting a custom notification tone. WhatsApp also allows you to customize it.
You can check it in: Setting => Apps & notifications => See all apps => App Name
Then open the Notifications sub-setting and see if there's a "Sound" option. If there is, then you can set a custom sound.
As for notifications on Lock Screen, you only need to keep them on or off. There is no per-app setting to show on lock screen or not. That said, you can hide the sensitive notifications content from lock screen to stop unauthorized persons from seeing the content of your notifications.
