I don't know how often quickly you get your updates but I've never been disappointed using Airtel when it comes to monthly quick updates. Once those in India are getting, I'm also getting without delays.
I get monthly updates on time too, but this upgrade takes at least one week. I noticed it on nokia 2.2. After the upgrade release, it took me more that a week to get it
As HMDLaura said, the list is depending on local approvals, so if the local approvals aren't there they can't distribute it. This is the first time I've seen a list like this from HMD and I think if Nigeria and other populous countries could get the update they could say so - look at the size of some of the countries on the list! 😮
What is Nokia doing by rationing this update? Is it lack of server capacity to distribute the update or what? I don't just understand, this their method is irritating.
Both matter. Whether an update is approved or not depends on both the country and the network provider whose network you are connected to. In practice this means that the update needs to be approved by the country and the network provider whose SIM card you have in your phone.
I've previously been able to trigger an update by swapping my SIM card for one in another country, whilst remaining connected to the same network in the country I was in.
Usually approvals are pretty quick but some networks can block updates if they're found incompatible with some of their services, e.g. VoLTE or VoWiFi in recent times.
You'll just have to wait and see. If you get impatient you could always try a local SIM.
The complaining on this forum about Android updates is INSANE. I remember seeing this when I first bought a Nokia phone under HMD (Nokia 5.1)
Have some patience, your phone WILL receive the updates they have announced but I can assure you it won't magically make your life good, it's just a software update....
I know it's a bit hard to understand the waves, but I'll do my best to explain for all of you who misunderstood like I did and waited for Wave 2 on 12th of April.
The Wave 1 is from 9th April to 14th April. 50% of those countries in Wave 1 will receive the update after 12th of April and 100% of Wave 1 will have the update by 14th of April.
The Wave 2 (this is guessed estimate) will be the rest of the countries and will be available for the first 10% by the first day, 50% by the 3rd day and by the 5th day (100%) every owner of Nokia 4.2 should have the update ready.
Which other smart phone manufacturer does this kind of wave 1 and wave 2 abracadabra when the phone smartphone uses the same chipset? Even Sammy that has two kinds of chipsets doesn't waste such time.

From which country are you?
Nigeria
Have you got android 10 in Nigeria?
Yeah, for nokia 2.2. No for nokia 4.2. The rest i don't know
You'll get it, be patient.
Cheers 🙂
Yeah, waiting patiently
When will sri lanka receive this update
Google distributes HMD's updates outside China, AFAIK, so blame Google 😆

The update is for all country. Or only for the published one ? I'm from guyana
Same as almost half of Europe: Bulgaria. Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, , Slovakia, Slovenia,
And Australia, China.
Why Nigeria is not among the list above?
Usa here! Just got it!! Amazing!!!
has any Nigerian gotten 4.2 update?
where tf is wave 2 list
We seriously desperate for wave 2! We hope Nigeria will be among the list of the 2nd wave; and it's almost pass the 12th of April already?
Thanks for releasing update in india, but thier are bugs in this update and I hope it will be fixed in next update
1. Switching between Volte and wifi calling is a mess.
2. Call quality after update the other person is not able to hear my voice clearly in 4g and 3g network but in 2g network works well.
3. Wifi or mobile data works even it's in off stage.
4. Battery drain am a normal user before update I use to get 8 hrs screen usage since full charge now am getting only 4 hrs.
5. Some times frames are missing while using chrome, YouTube etc.
Use this method to force the update on any Nokia running Android one or Android go.
Give us the list for wave 2 please?
I have a rather odd question. I bought my Nokia 4.2 in Belgium, but right now I'm Greece. Belgium was included in the first wave, Greece wasn't.
My question is, does the market I bought the phone matter, or the location of the device?

Everyone is bored in house. You know that, right?

Also, @HMDLaura mentioned this in their explanation "We usually have 2 Waves, which are usually a couple of weeks apart" which explained a lot about the dates. Here's the quoted link https://community.phones.nokia.com/discussion/57819/q-a-on-approved-markets-and-waves/p1
I hope I could've been some help, cheers.
