[Updated 14/05/20]Android 10 on Nokia 6.2

Network operators have to check every big update, it has been proved, they have to aprove every single thing with the software.

Network operators do not introduce restrictions on phones with Android systems. If he had introduced then the phones with Custom Rom, example LineageOs, it would not have access to the network. And there are a lot of Custom Rom variants. In the past, I also used phones with Custom Rom. My first phone, a Samsung Galaxy S had the Cyanogemod nightly version when I received it. I installed Cyanogemod stable and then the nightly variants that had security updates . In 2017 I had a Samsung Galaxy S 3 with LineageOs that also received security updates, nightly versions . The Custom Rom instali and updates were not conditioned by the network operator.
2 -
That was different, because when you install a custom Rom, your phone will be (liberated), so that is not the problem, it's not a Rom checked by your network company.
You can clearly see that every update is liberated in batches because every single network operator has to approve the updates (the big ones).

Nokia, in case you do not take note this is why and how china phone, over take you old phones producers. i decide to try out Nokia again for the old name not their futures, believe me if it is to be a china producer, at the time this phone was lunch, it will surely come with android 10.

I hope to get it soon in Colombia

They don't usually include all countries I think it's based on how many people use Nokia in the country,so Nigeria would probably receive the update after India or before

I am a very patient person. But despite the promises, extremely slowly rolling out Android 10 update in Central Europe. I understand, that it is COVID-19, but you can work in the IT sector from home office. If you do not roll out of the update this week, my next phone not will be Nokia.

Sad small country like Bhutan like mine never gets update fro nokia.

Is there a Roadmap for the following waves? I´d love to see Android 10 on my 6.2 in Germany...

other producers will post the file on their site for download, if you do not received it by air.
to make the mater worst nobody has come to say this is what is going on

Hi @mar.wel.ous lightart, if your country isn't listed in wave 1 then it will be in wave 2 unless the wave 2 notification explicitly excludes it. Btw, the first post links to an FAQ 😉
Cheers 🙂

Hi @drake alex,
Which countries are in each wave is unlikely to be HMD's decision but more likely down to the network operators and the OTA distribution provider, in this case it is Google.
Cheers 🙂

Hi @user1533140581793, what @CJaramillo says is correct.
Cyanogenmod and LineageOS are under no obligation to make sure that your phone works in your country or with your operator, but HMD are, which is why HMD waits for network operator approval before sending out updates.
Cheers 🙂

I believe it is the best thing to do. The most sold device will have more number of people so, sending an update to that device will keep a lot more people happy. This, should be the preferred way in case of HMD. The 2019 device like the 6.2 and 7.2 should have come with 10 which would have not lead to this discussion I believe. 😂

Hi @madbilly , thanks for your reply, but that´s not what i have asked, i´ve asked if there is a Roadmap or schedule for when the second wave will roll out, not if Germany is going to be in the second wave. Kind regards from Germany.
1 -
Some publications quote that the 2nd wave is available since yesterday, including Android 10 being made available in the UK. HMD has not published such an info though. So, it isn't officially known.

Well it appears that someone disagrees with everything I've written! :D
Hi @mar.wel.ous lightart, did you actually go and read the FAQ I told you existed? It gives you the answer to your question:
You mention “Waves” - What does this mean?
“Waves” is the term we use to denote when each OTA (over-the-air) is first enabled. We usually have 2 Waves, which are usually a couple of weeks apart (although this isn’t a hard and fast rule).
On occasions we may receive approvals between Wave 1 and Wave 2, and then we’ll release to you asap
So that's your roadmap: after wave 1 finishes it's usually two weeks until wave 2.
Bitte 🙂
2 -
Hi @madbilly, yes, i´ve read the FAQ, but it says things like "usually" and "a couple of weeks" which means it could possibly be more than two waves and they could possibly be 2, 3 or more weeks apart. So the answer to my question is no, there´s no official Roadmap or Schedule right now. But again, thank you very much for your reply and have nice day, kind regards from Germany, Marco.

I noticed that they release the 2nd wave 13 or 14 days after the first wave, so maybe after next Tuesday or Wednesday we will be able to have the update!

I got it this morning here in Australia when I checked the update status on my phone . 1.56GB so no problems on Wi-Fi. Seems to work OK without any issues..

Please what about us in Nigeria are we not good to receive the Android 10..we have many people using Nokia 6.2 please.we need it

You're right, there's nothing specific to the 6.2 with dates to say when each wave is released.
Et bonne journée de la France!
Cheers 🙂

You already posted Wave 2 for Nokia 1 Plus, where is wave 2 for Nokia 6.2?
1 -
My network operator (Telenor Hungary) was saying, they don’t have a set of processes, so review the big android updates, the verification is done by google and published by the manufacturer. Empty words, more slowly roll out processes... Where is the wave 2? My patience ran out.
2 -
Is it the same release for all countries? I'm asking because it's possible to get the update using a VPN Proxy even if it's not yet officially available in my country...
2 -
I tried but that doesn't work.
They rolled out wave 2 for Nokia 1 Plus and this phone (6.2) should've gotten wave 2 before the other phone.

Thank you Laura.
For countries not included in wave 1 such us Spain, when will be delivery Android 10 for Nokia 6.2?
0 -
They haven't announced the second wave which I don't see why but I just bought the 6.2 and it made me update to android 10 during setup so the second wave I'm guessing has unofficially started
2 -
What about Nigeria why are we not not on the wave when are we going to receive the Android 10
