HMD Global did announce Nokia 8.3 5G on March 2020, but has HMD Global forgot to deliver Nokia 8.3 5G to market? Now is alrady July 2020. Or did postponing of Bond film mess the schedule?

Competitors have already delivered to market similar (or even some better) 5G-phones with Snapdragon 765G and 6-8 Gb RAM and 128 Gb storage, with 400-500 euro prices.

But where is Nokia 8.5 5G still sleeping? Why HMD Global new product marketing leader Adam Ferguson (recruited from OnePlus) is now totally silent about HMD Global mobile phone products?

Nobody really knows what happened to the 8.3. It seems that it isn‘t even in production yet. HMD should at least publish some information about releasing date. It would be a shame if they really wait for this dumb movie nobody is interested in.

The Nokia 8.3 5G is like a mystery. We have not even seen a single image or a video of a working Nokia 8.3 5G. It wasn't even shown during the launch event. So, we don't know what's happening inside HMD. Maybe the production got delayed due to Covid-19 because even their Nokia 5.3 is slow to reach different markets.

It could also be related to the bond movie which has now been postponed and maybe HMD doesn't want to miss out on that marketing?. The phone is now listed in a few European countries with the arrival date mentioned as September which is two months away. As the movie will be released in November they will begin marketing it a few weeks or months ago so maybe HMD is waiting for them to start the marketing campaign of their film so that they can start with their own marketing for the Nokia 8.3 5G as well.

However, they really need to speed things up as they are seriously lagging behind in 2020 in terms of product availability.

    Hi all,

I don't think the Bond movie delay would really stop HMD making a phone available to buy, after all, they would still have had more sales if they had made it available earlier and the Bond film would give them a welcome increase in sales later in its lifespan.

    Cheers 🙂
