Chrome browser is not updating, even when tapping update button in playstore

Even when tapping update button,there is no response.

Same thing happened to android system webview app.

May be it's a chrome problem ,try uninstalling chrome I mean clear cache and try updating it it should do it

In Android 10 Full version and Go Version, Chrome Update takes place in this manner (For First two downloads, swipe down and expand the notifcation)

• Language for Chrome
• com.android.trichromelibrary
• Google Chrome

After these installation gets complete then chrome will be installed successfully

Regarding Android System Webview ,Once the chrome download completes ,it will start download when you tap "Update"

Important thing is that ,After device Reset it takes almost one day to enable the update (IDK why like that but happens same in my N3.2).

True, but most of the times,I clear the data and cache of main Google apps like play Store and play services, my apps are able to update once again.

Also after a factory reset, it takes 12 hours after I update Google Play services for the nearby sharing option to be accessible, I have no idea why this happens....

It happens automatically, we just have to hope that it doesn't fail, that's all we can do......

Is the device running Android 10? There's a developer's option in Android 10 "Force allow apps on external" which is known to create such problem when enabled. If that's the case, disable the option temporarily while updating Chrome and Webview.

Thanks for pointing that out, I don't use the option, so I'm not getting such issue, but it will be helpful for others, I wonder why app updates fail just because of an option enabled in developer options........

Issue is when both the apps was installed or updated,didn't install or updated properly.

Simple solution is to uninstall and reinstall. But both are inbuilt apps, we can't uninstall that's why we disable the apps and clear the data.

Follow these steps to update :-

1) Go to Setting Apps> Apps and Notifications > See All Apps.

2) Go to Google Chrome and disable the app > Then clear data and cache. (Do same to android system webview aslo)

3) Now enable both the apps.

4) Go to play store and click update,both the apps will be updated.
