Hi y’all

This month we are celebrating the 2nd anniversary of the re-launch of the community 🎂🎉🎉

To do so we will have a few posts coming along your way all focusing on topics around the community 😉

Today we start off with some “history” and numbers.

When I started as a Community Manager at HMD Global in 2017 the Community was still a baby community. Looking back at my sheets of numbers and statistics during the past years we had a user base of 134,060 when I entered the company. The community was hosted on a different platform and kept very plain.

In November 2018 we re-launched the Community on Vanilla platforms, migrated most of the existing threads and user base and since then we have a steady growth in our Nokia Phones Community family. Today we count more than 780,000 active Users in the community and over 27,000,000 page views. Around 2,044 discussions are posted on a monthly basis and a bit over 5,000 comments are made.

We are super thankful for every single user, every post and comment made. It is great to see how the Nokia Phones family is growing and is helping each other out. We are totally aware that the community isn’t perfect, but we are glad for every feedback we get and we’ll try to offer you more content and fun stuff in the future.

In the name of the whole community team I want to say THANK YOU for your participation and engagement. We hope you stick with us and enjoy the 2nd re-launch anniversary.

    I think this is better than the chat support feature currently available in community app.

    Yay! Some stats that I've always wanted to see 🙈 If you can tell, Ms. Laura, are the numbers of 780k active users the actual active users (probably who logged in at least once in the last 90 days) or instead the total registered users? I'd like to know each one separately, if that's possible :)

    Happy 2nd anniversary to our re-born community 🥳 Looking forward to the countless more that we all can enjoy together.

    I do have a lot of complaints, feedback and suggestions WRT to the community itself as well as the devices and services, but that's for some other day (and thread) because it's celebration time here!

    I'm happy to have aged another two years being part of the community of the brand using which I opened my first ever mobile webpage (when wap was still a thing) and did the first ever forum post. There have been a lot of firsts for me with a Nokia, but I'm mentioning the above because that's how I got my first experience of an internet-enabled future.

    @HMDLaura Thank you for managing the things for us here and sticking through the ups and downs. Thank you for bringing some of the hmd employees to talk to us and give answers (even though Mr. Sonjoy couldn't answer our AMA and eventually left hmd recently). Another thank you for the Superuser tag!

    Overall it has been a good place to gain and share knowledge about Nokia phones and technology in general.

  • Congrats on your 2nd anniversary. You want to know what I like most in this community? The fact that users rarely ever get a reply from official Nokia staff to their posts. Especially when reporting bugs. Users just trying desperately to help each other, while there's no resposne from Nokia. Take a look at my profiles posts, and you'll see almost all of them have zero replies from staff. Sorry, but this is more like a "have fun" forum of the users, rather than a serious support community.

    So, go and get a nice example of serious support from companies like Xiaomi (was my previous phone) etc, and make this a real support community, rather than posting all the time threads about how happy and joyfull you are about this beautiful community!
