OK Android Auto issue is fixed by installing a newer version, from akp mirror. V. 6.1.6
I'm pretty sure they pulled the update. I'm on my second 8.3 and the first one had Android 11 the day it was released. This new one still hasn't gotten it.
I'm in the USA
I think you are right. I got my new 8.3 yesterday but I can't get the v11 update.
I tried to contact Support about this (after finding a way to get around the Support page being badly broken for me and other people), but they didn't really have an answer either, just that it's not something they can see (well, then delegate to someone who can?) and that it's subject to the same vague limitations mentioned in the FAQ.
It's highly recommended to do a factory reset after every major update. This will remove any under lying system files from the previous software versions and make the phone with smooth as new. This also applies to the apps.
I always do a factory reset after every major update or once a year. Phone works smooth as ever. No issues. I have a Nokia 8.1
Got the update today in belgium (flanders) on mobile vikings network :)
I also got the update today, T-mobile USA!
Got the update today in uk
Just purchased Nokia 8.3 5G last week and it was instantly update to Android 11. I noticed that the battery gets drained 30...40% overnight (7 hrs idle on my desk), which is not acceptable.
Noticed that the best cure for this is to disable 5G; the overnight battery drain shrunk to 3%, which I think is normal level.
My question is, did you experience similar already with Android 10, and are you experiencing the excessive battery drain with Android 11? Any other way to save battery than disabling 5G?
Got the update today in Kenya :)
Update arrived in Switzerland free
Still waiting in UK.
Finally UK has R11.
All seems OK with it so far, although it has completely distorted my screen when playing Words with friends for some odd reason.
Have done full factory reset after the upgrade which was a bit of a pain but apparently is worthwhile
Updated to Android 11 and not impressed. More than half my apps fail to load. Error message after error message.
What apps in particular ?
Mine all worked fine after upgrade other than the screen issue on Words with friends. Unfortunately even after full reset it didn't fix itself, but it might still be worthwhile you doing one.
I didn't need to factory reset at all, the upgrade went without a hitch. I did make sure to run SD Maid first and enable its Accessibility feature so that it can Clear Cache on all installed apps.
I'm in Austria 🇦🇹 and unfortunately still no android 11 update for my 8.3, sim unlocked, on Lidl which uses the Drei network
Boa noite, alguém sabe me dizer quando chega a actualização para o android 11 para o Nokia 8.3 em Portugal.
can it be rolled back, memory has something wrong which stops camera and apps working
my Whatsapp and Signal apps seldom fail to record voice message since update to Android11, anyone have the same issue? The voice message goes dead silence in such situation, the only way to resolve it is force the app close and relaunch the app (in apps detail page, not by simple closing the app by swiping upward)
The failed (dead silence) mesage have a strange behaviour - the record time is not the same as the final message length. E.g. you record 10sec of voice, the whatsapp only send out the dead silence message but the length is 7 sec only
Got the update today. Causes issues with some apps. Now can't open any sports tracker apps other than google-fit which is rubbish
Vietnam, when upgrade ? Help me
What about the 8V 5G?
After updating android 11 nfc read error.
The gesture navigation require a little bit more finesse on Android 11, you could say that one must be fluid like water to go with this new flow.
You may need to update your vehicle's firmware.
If it's not a built-in factory radio, then you can visit the aftermarket manufaturer's website to download and update your radio by yourself, otherwise, you'll need to book an appointment with your dealership to update your radio.
You could be using some parasytic apps that collects data even in background.
Go into Settings => Battery => ... =>Battery Usage.
See which app is causing your drainage.
Android 11 require you to individually grant hardware permission to each apps. I would suggest that you backup your Whatsapp and Signal then clear storage on those apps to reinitialize the permission requests from the app.
Check the app's permission in Settings. Android 11 has new feature to better control your app's permission.
