My Nokia 8.1 has downloaded android 11 update & the next may security patch update. But i havn't installed them either as horrible bugs are reported. how to delete those OTA files? update notifications always pings me to restart device to update to android11. i fear to switch off/restart phone as it can update to 11..
Simple clear data of Play services.. and Google firmware app. Then check I do all the time. Because my wifi always connected to my device so it's automatically updated. And in the developer options you can disable the the auto update when device restart..
my Nokia 8.1 updated just today to latest June security patch update. Update finished ok, few moments (enough time to let it finalyze) after update I restarted phone, and then it got stuck to "AndroidOne" screen. Nothing seems to help, can get it to restart, but goes again to same screen. Cant get to safe mode etc...
Suggestions? What now? Warranty is still on till beginning of next month, but I want to keep my images, videos, phone numbers, memos, etc. Not using clouds.
This navigation bar is totally moving around the phone, why it isn't stable at a place. App crashes are still happening. Anyhow the support for nokia 8.1 is going to end, why don't they just update the issues before that.
Hey Nokia, please do fix this issues before you end the support to this device.
It seems it might not be the software that failed, but hardware. They said in local phone operator shop, that Nokia representative had visited their shop and had told them that HMD Global (Nokia) engineers have used a copper part instead of aluminium alloy and this couses the phone and battery to overheat too easily, this also is the root of not having a proper quick charge no more.
So basicly if more cases like this comes up (phone dies suddenly and is stuck with "AndroindOne" screen) this should then be a group lawsuit... Since Nokia has known about this and not informed to people risk of suddenly without warning to loose all data (images, videos, phone numbers, SMS, notes, etc...).
I have seen that there are others who have had this problem, since there are some videos in Youtube that show how to solve this kind of thing, but it involves fastboot and resetting phone, loosing all data.... And dont know if it even works...
The issue that you are seeing is very likely hardware blown and the specific part being the emmc (i.e. the storage chip). The chip has a life span and depending on the number of I/O that happens on it, it can die sooner or later. They are using the emmc from Samsung if it is a global variant or SK Hynix if it is the Chinese variant i.e. Nokia X7.
The thing about aluminum and copper is just a blatant lie there. Because if that is true, Copper is a far better conductor of heat and that is always preferred over Aluminum (or any of its alloys). Using copper means easier and faster heat dissipation and a cooler phone. Also, hmd engineers did not develop the phone. It was FIH Mobile's engineers - FIH is the ODM behind the Nokia 8.1 / X7.
And it is happening to a lot of people and you can go ahead with the lawsuit if it is feasible for you. I am all for the consumers to have well build phones. Anyways, if you send the 8.1 to service now, I think they will replace it with some other model, most likely the Nokia X20 since the Nokia 8.1 has been discontinued for a while. If they still have stocks for the 8.1, they may send in a Nokia 8.1 to you. But they are also notorious for calling the phone damaged due to water and ask you to pay for the repair.
Nobody can give a solution for a hardware issue. You will need to contact hmd for support, if they are willing to accept your problem under warranty and offer some resolution.
Screen is freezing too frequently it's nearly impossible to use. Overheating & battery drain issue is there too & hasn't been solved yet after so many complaints. Please do rollout MR update & fix these issues ASAP.

How do I get the latest update? I'm stuck on build 00WW_6_190
After A11 update last month poor network reception is already there,
now two more bugs....
#settings app open multiple times in background
#most horrible, daily in between 21.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs loosing wifi connection automatically,
Then need to restart device twice to get connected with wifi.
Can anyone suggest troubleshooting for the above issues,

Are you all discussers working for HMD Global, since the forum got quite silent for days after I mentioned "group lawsuit"...? 😁
Looks like happening to many people... and no solution so far...
