HMD has lost the reputation created by Nokia in all ways.
HMD's main sop was "secure and up to date Android" which is a huge lie in many ways. HMD has failed to even provide a simple security patch update to many phones including my Nokia 7.2 since 2-3 months..😑
We can't even expect a stable Android 11 update when many are in Android 12 beta..😠
Better start working on Android 12 without any bugs. Update our Android 10 eligible phones directly to Android 12. Use some more months instead of wasting time on releasing rushed up deadline Android 11 and working on fixing the bugs ie MR release.
No Nokia 5 series have got Android 11.My Nokia 5.3 has now been put back to July/August for Android 11, nearly a YEAR after Android 11 came out. Only a small number of Nokia phones seem to have Android 11. It's an absolute shambles by HMD.
As for the Nokia 5.3: the fingerprint reader fails most of the time, the screen is mediocre, the camera is poor without GCAM installed and the Nokia App takes an eternity to open on its own Nokia phone
my name is mirko and im new and very low phone knowledge but i want to ask if on the old nokia 95 it it possible to load some F-droit Apps like Conversations!!!
Hello Macgarrett, the source for saying that Android 11 on the Nokia 5.3 has been pushed back to July/August is JB Lawrence who posted it on this site on June 3 (you hav to go back to page 3 to find it).
They will for sure move again... This is worst experience. they want to skip android 12 upgrade so they are pushing as they promised 2 year OS upgrades while purchasing the device. Now they are tricking users to skip the Android 12 that is the reason they are pushing Android 11
For Lawrence JB: No worries, but actually I don't think the Nokia 5.3 will receive Android 11 in June and even if it does that's a ludicrous nine months after it came out.
Agreed, but Nokia 5.3 was released way back in April 2020 everywhere except India, so that means it's already past one year. Now we can confirm what was mentioned on the box as 2 years of Android upgrade means it's nothing but only marketing.
HMD is still busy in making Nokia 1plus pro with 0.5gb ram and 8gb storage with 5mp rear and 2mp front cam.so they didn't get much time to keep their promise on timely OS updates 😤
I am a proud user of Nokia 6.1+. Is there any chance for Android 11 roll out for this device. Alternatively, you could roll out the version as well as security patches as paid service, which I am ready to pay for on a biennial basis providing the device is compatible. Leave not people like me on the lurch.
If i remember good, the 6.1/6.1 Plus were released with A8 and became the updates to 9 and 10,so the two major updates are done 😔 If you want to continue using your 6.1 Plus with an up to date OS,you will have to root it and use a custom rom 👍
@topic: Well,my Poco X3 received the update last week and i hate already one feature:the new bubbles 🤮 They should better bring good features and not nonsense features like they did with that idiotic tab grid group **** in Chrome Browser.Seems like Google tries to copy MS:one version is good, next bad, then good again,etc...🤣
You can just disable bubbles for the apps if you do not like them :) I find bubbles as a pretty useful feature to switch between chat apps while working on something else.
I've seen some people saying that Android 11 for Nokia 5.3 has been pushed back to July/August now. Where can I find official notification about this? Thanks!!
P.S. Nokia 5.3 is my first and last Nokia. I'll be moving to a manufacturer who honors their commitments, and doesn't keep making promises that they can't keep
Disappointing fact is that, we paid extra money for the lower specs compared to the competition; expecting atleast we will have a up to date and secure OS!! But now even that promise is not fulfilled, what is there for Nokia to offer?
Nokia 5.3 and many of the devices for that matter are behind the monthly security patch updates and no news from HMD global about the update situation.

Waste.

Maybe Nokia forgot they have a baby, call 7 plus.
Can you please explain why Nokia 9 Nokia 7.2 & 6.2 are so late. 1 2 3 4 5 series already get android 11. Low prices phone get first. Why?

@marty dav 5.3 delayed till July/August, doesn't surprise me at all but what is your source for that information?
Hello everyone!
my name is mirko and im new and very low phone knowledge but i want to ask if on the old nokia 95 it it possible to load some F-droit Apps like Conversations!!!
Cheers guys!

@marty dav thank you very much, I found the post you mentioned.

Nokia's downfall is always the OS, was the same story with symbian, same with windows and now with neglated and late android updates.
Can't they just learn their lesson and invest on software R&D rather than making new phone models every month.
Disappointed with the claimed timely security updates and promised android version updates.
Nokia 5dot3 does feel like an abandoned product sadly and it's not even receiving the monthly security patch each month.
Nokia 5 series didn't get it yet.
We need to wait until June 30 to confirm whether Nokia 5.3 will get the update or will get it postponed to July/August.
Sorry for misleading you guys, but honestly out of frustration, I had mentioned that it's postponed. It's not true as yet.
Yes I agree, that Nokia 5.3 looks like an abandoned product the way they are supporting this device since it got released in the Indian market.
For Lawrence JB: No worries, but actually I don't think the Nokia 5.3 will receive Android 11 in June and even if it does that's a ludicrous nine months after it came out.
"Up-to-date" should be "Out-of-date".

If they bombard the market with too many phones except the C series, the future of upgrades and security patches will take a backseat.
The main reason why I bought Nokia3.4 was because it said android 11 ready

That's called marketing.

Why is Nokia 5.4 yet to receive Monthly security patch?
The last time I checked was January.
when will come Android 11 in Nokia 3.4 cause already june month running and it is already last month of Q2

Either ditch Nokia phones right now or wait until 30th of June to see if the update comes. If not, you can do the same on 1st of July.
There's nothing else to be done if the company cannot stick to their revised plans for A11.
