Since the Android 11 update, I also experience the NFC problem. It does turn on eventually though, but not clear exactly when or what the delay is. What I've found sofar:

    1. After re-start, NFC defaults to OFF.
    2. When trying to set NFC to ON (either via settings or Google Pay), there appears to be some kind of delay waiting for some kind of confirmation. During this time, NFC (in settings) is shown as ON but it is greyed out. In Google Pay it is shown as "busy" turning NFC on (spinning wheel icon).
    3. NFC eventually turns on properly (and Google Pay then works) after 70 mins+ of uptime. There is a caveat to this - if, after restarting the phone, there is an extended delay before 1st PIN entry (which completes the restart), say of 2 min or longer, then NFC never turns on at all.
    4. So it seems that there is some kind of extended synchronization between tasks that doesn't quite sync up ????
    5. Or some kind of timer that never expires ????
    1. VERY FRUSTRATING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My front camera wasn't working after the A11 update. I reluctantly did a full factory re-set - but it didn't fix the problem, my front camera still doesn't work.

I have not made a comment for many months now, a few months ago there were members who seemingly had nothing to do but complain that A11 was overdue. I had advise them to chill out, it will come when it is ready. It seems they got what they wanted, of course it was still not ready. Yeh I updated when the offer came, I was in two minds, but I still updated. Now it seems that we all need to wait for the fixes, HMD must be aware and working on it. Anyone out there still waiting for the update, your Lucky, don't update until things are fully set up, and maybe better never update, it is probably not worth it. A10 is still great on the 7.2. Good luck all

Yes we can always say it doesn't matter, just don't expect too much and you'll be happy with anything.

But it was almost the same problem with Android 10 update: delayed and buggy. It's not by bad luck but it's a method that HMD chose, a way of dealing with their own customers. Maybe if it happened once and if they said they were sorry for inconvenience, it could be acceptable. But they have been doing the same thing over and again and with several devices. There has been complete silence from HMD on this matter. Oh, yes, after they changed their road map few times, they finally admitted that they screwed up Android 11 updates in general. But it's really not the same as apologising and as we can see they didn't change a thing. So I won't be happy with Android 10. I want working, stable Android 11 on Nokia 7.2. That's what HMD promised and that's one of the reasons many of us bought their devices at all. HMD are crooks and should be treated as such.

After the update to Android 11 no more charge, no ringtone, problem with the camera. So I chose the big way, backup and reset by recovery. Power +volume + choose recovery, then, power +volume -

Now, no more problem. My 7.2 is like new.

Android 11 update for Nokia 6.2 has resumed. Does this mean we have to wait for the release of Android 11 bug-free for Nokia 7.2?

  • Selfie cam not working after update hmd thanks for that but why can't I use another camera app as same problem no front camera ??

WORD of ADVICE! don't upgrade your Nokia 7.2 to Android 11. It is incomplete and incompatible with ARCore. I am developing AR aps and now my phone has become useless to me.

Just ordered my new iPhone so my 7.2 will be retired very soon. Farewell Android, best OS but by far the worst support.

I'm not taking that much pictures but as there seems to quite few people having issues with the camera app I just checked how it looks in my 7.2.

As far as I can see, is my camera working just fine for some reason.

I took quite a few test shots with both front and back with different resolutions.

    Android 11, Version 00WW_2_490

    Camera version: 96.9.0730.01

It's different software version, we have problem with camera after updating to Android 11 v. 3.490.

You either didn't receive the update or you missed it before it was pulled off by HMD

So the issue will appear with 3_490?

This phone is so strange, different FW's realesed and pulled back, Google Play Service still on Aug -21, battery draining when using Dual SIM.

Well, at least I'll get my new company phone next week (YAY!!!) so I get rid of the extra SIM.

    EDIT!

My bad! Sorry for that!! I am having 00WW_3_490 and fully (?) working camera!

I use a 6.2, but I post this here because 6.2 and 7.2 have almost identical firmwares, and the 7.2 discussion has more participants.

I upgraded to Android 11 about a week ago. Everything works perfectly. Even the battery seems to last longer.

BUT, there's an issue on my phone. The phone charging speed. Some times when plugged to the charger, I get a "quick charging" message in the bottom of the lock screen, but usually it says "slow charging" and takes hours to fully charge. This is the usual case. Even when charging fast, after a while it goes back to slow charging. It looks like it's messed up.

Do you have such an issue with the latest 11 upgrade? Please report.

As in your case I have no issue with the camera or anything else for that matter.

    Camera Version 96.9.0730.01

Google Play Services Version 22.02.21 (150400-428111784)

    Build 00WW_3_490

    My settings are the same:

    Camera Version 96.9.0730.01

Google Play Services Version 22.02.21 (150400-428111784)

    Build 00WW_3_490

But my "selfie" camera is disabled, and the zoom function is faulty (clicking on the "wide angle" icon actually zooms in instead of out).

Whatever the issue is must involve more than just the software / firmware versions. I wonder if it might only impact a certain iteration / build of the hardware (such as the amount of RAM or storage, different batches of the SoC chips, different wireless units in different markets, or who knows what).

Apparently, Nokia / HMD doesn't know, or presumably they would have fixed it by now.

The third month of 2022 has arrived, but Android 11 (bug-free) for Nokia 7.2 has not been released yet!!

Meanwhile, Android 13 is ready to be released!

If we are as owners of these phones want to try make sense we will need to start a database of users info and issues. Does anyone want to start a thread asking for such information?

    Yikes!

Now is my 7.2 showing that both 'Security updates' and 'Google Play system' has expired.

    Anyone else?

This is somewhat alarming as the only modification I made since last factory reset (when upgrading to A11) was change of launcher.

Honestly, I think these devices are not worth it. It makes sense start fan database for old, unsupported legendary device because they are awesome. This 7.2 s.h.i.t. should simply work. Even if someone after many months managed to figure out what's wrong, who's going to fix it? Certainly not HMD.
