Always on is no longer an option in the display settings but I find the new screen attention option better for my use. Set the display to turn off after 15 seconds but as long as you are looking at the screen it does not turn off. Loving it.

Hey Flashy,

I found a temporary solution:

Go to Settings - Accessibility - Display and turn "Extra dim" on. Make sure your screen brightness is set beyond 64% (by scroll down from the top of screen and adjust the brightness slider in control center).

After that, you could change the brightness by adjust the intensity of extra dim function. Or, adjust the screen brightness as usual (by using the brightness slider in control center), but not less than 64%.

Tips:

- Turn on "Keep on after device restarts" to make sure the extra dim function is always on.

- Turn off "Adaptive brightness" to make sure the screen brightness is always beyond 64%.

- Add "Extra dim" shortcut to control center.

Pros:

- No more PWM, no more headache and eye strain. Yeah!!!

Cons:

- Screen color looks weird...

- It's a little bit annoying to adjust the brightness.

Thanks, this works indeed quite well. Hopefully it is temporary and will be fixed cause some contrast is lost in the dark with this trick. Battery time seems okay though fortunately with this software dimming.

The option is still there, just moved and renamed.

Display -> Lock Screen -> Always show time and info

Android 12 on the x20 is amazing, better than on the Google pixel IMO, however I'm still discovering and exploring it. Buttery smooth, bloatware free, fast and responsive and personable android goodness is my summary of findings so far. I think this phone is the best investment to make in mobile communications to date, surpassing my personal experience on other platforms and other manufacturers....and tbh I'd expect nothing less from the Nokia brand.

I got the update today In France. But now I have no more data mobile accessible (3g/4g/5g) :( I tried to reboot, reset apn settings, nothing to do, it's not working. Any idea how to solve it or to come back in previous version please ?

It is far from buttery smooth, it is lagging quite bad since A12. There are a lot of frame drops, laggy animation...

in Italy on my Nokia X20 I don't have this problem.

Since the android 12 update my x20 cannot charge from my pc when its connected with the usb calble for file transfer. The same issue is present in my car when the phone is connected to the android auto compatible system via usb. I tried multiple usb cables, nothing helps. By using a wall charger the phone is charging properly. Does anyone has the same issue?

I also didn't receive this update yet in UAE. Must be the delay with the region. It's 27th and my X20 is still running in November security patch.

Unfortunately on my X20 it is still the same, I only got a december security update today, but the build remains 2_350 and all the bugs seem the same.

Nokia X20 has bugs after the Android 12 update and none of them have been addressed by releasing only Dec security patch for UAE today.

I sometimes do wonder of the strange decisions which goes behind in releasing new build in some regions and only security patches in other regions.

Evening - since upgrading to android 12 the phone screen freezing apps disappear and then after a minute or two the front screen and apps come back never used to struggle like this before I updated it! Any help please as it's now getting on my nerves!!!! Thanks

That's sad😢 I have 00WW_2_420 on my phone and some bugs are fixed. Hope you'll get the update soon!
