When charging my phone in my car and playing music through the 3.5mm jack, I seem t get a lot of electrical pick up. Pull out the charger and everything is fine. While I thought that moving the audio port next to the charger was a dumb design decision I would have thought they would put some shielding in place. Anyone else have this issue or know a way of overcoming it? I might try out bluetooth, but my car only has an earlier version of the BT standard,

Don't you have Bluetooth in the car?
If you have USB port on car then you can transfer audio through that while charging.
