5G in Nokia X10

Hi, in my just newly bought X10, in "Preferred Network Type" I have 3 options 2G, 3G, 4G. For 5G, there is another field"Enable 5G". When I enable 5G, then Preferred Network Type goes to "INVALID_DISPLAY". Support told me that this is normal if there is no 5G coverage, but I don't have any other 5G to confirm.... Is it normal behaviour?

    @Kostas_Blue That doesn't sound right, sounds like you have a fault somewhere. I have just set mine to enable 5g with no issues. Please see attached screenshot


  • I definitely haven't run into issues like this. I occasionally use 5G network and this error never poppeded up to me.

    I suggest you to :

    1. Perform a soft reset of your phone

    2. Confirm that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) does offer 5G to confirm they have proper infrastructure (else turn 5G off to save battery life)

    3. Try swapping your SIM to another tray on your phone and check again. If issue persists then check your warranty and have your device changed.

  • are all nokia x10s 5g beccause im with smarty network in uk and have 5g.but cant find any 5g settings i tried google and people showing screenshots of a 5g toggle button i dont have that i have done a factory reset still no wiser.

    @mrcbx550 As far as I'm aware the X10's are all 5g devices. What model do you have, mine in the UK is TA-1332.

  • My old Samsung ran 4.5G but my X10 doesn't. Sorry to hijack x

  • I also have a Nokia X10, on Smarty network, and do NOT get 5g as an option. Under the Preferred network type I can choose between "4G/3G/2G Auto" and "3G/2G Auto" There is no option to chose 5G

    When no 5G coverage, I don't even get an option to turn 5G

    however, when at work, I get speeds of 63MB/s- meaning it's 5G...?

    I haven't had no time or even checked the settings, but it seems to be the case
