WiFi issues on T20

Hi,

I'm having connection issues with my T20. My router is an Amazon eroo 6 and everything else works amazingly well. The tablet keeps losing WiFi signal then sometimes takes ages to find it again. Any suggestions of a fix before I return the tablet.

Thank you

  • Same problem here, more prevalent when sim card is inserted, also when other devices (especially iphones) are nearby and on the same access point.

  • Ok, you may be onto something there. I'll test that out.

Mine is the wifi only version which makes it sometimes unusable. I was hoping the Android 12 update might fix it so I'll hold on a bit longer.

Same problem for me. I hope it gets fixed soon or there will be some bad reviews coming 😄

  • I got very frustrated 6 months ago by the table constantly dropping WiFi. Support openly admitted it was an issue on some tablets and they were not fit for purpose. We stopped using it for months. I decided last month before dumping the unit in a bin to send to support in Poland which I did. It now works fine. Frustrating that they said " NFF," which is clearly abject nonsense and very poor pr imho. Answer clearly is make them IE Nokia sort out the mess of their own making.

I have same problem with my new nokia T20 tablet. After few minutes of inactivity (screen off) tablet loses conectivity to wifi network (tablet showing 0% signal strenght) and still not fully disconnecting from it. You have to manualy reconnect! Tablet by itself won't reconnect EVER.

Solution was to change my wifi parameter (in wifi router settings) Beacon Interval from 200 to 100. Now T20 tablet does not have a problem. However I can't change that on wifi network that I don't own. So nokia support please fix that by software update!!! I did not have problemy with any mobile wifi device with my previous settings!

  • I have a router which I change the beacon timing so HMD Nokia please fix this issue urgently. You haven't released a security patch since the May one for Android 11, you could use the next security patch for Android 11 or the upgrade to Android 12 to fix this issue.

  • Unplug the power cable for the router from the power source.

Unplug the power cable for the modem from the power source.

Wait at least 30 seconds or so.

Plug the modem back into the power source.

Plug your router back into the power source.

On your PC, try to connect again.

    Regards,

    Will

  • Hi guys, I also own the T20 tablet, I spoke and sent to support but they say that they have not encountered any problems.

I tried all the methods, reset the network settings of the device, change the properties from the router but none of them solved.

If I'm close to the router it stays connected but as soon as I leave a room and use the lock screen of the device, I get the notification that it is disconnected and I can no longer reconnect it.

I would simply like to know if Nokia is aware of this problem and if it is fixable with a system update.

It is a gift that I gave to my father and because of this problem he is not even using it and for months that he has abandoned him.

  • I am using T20 since it was released, didn't see any wifi issue, are you using the latest August update? This update solved a lot of bugs like back action not working & smooth transition, maybe the wifi issue will also get solved

  • My T20 has been working fine since release, have you tried the latest August update? Several bugs have been fixed with this update, such as back action not working & smooth transitions.

  • I have exactly this issue on Android 11 September security patch level.

Also I am waiting for Android 12 as well in the UK.

    Not a happy customer .

Moderator what is happening here? Great hardware but terrible software!

  • Hello friends, please help me. I factory reset my t20 tablet due to the slowness and the recent update. After doing this, the WiFi speed has decreased drastically and my ping is high. If I tested with several other devices with the same WiFi, the speed is normal. And it was good, but it seems that something is preventing the tablet's Wi-Fi speed from increasing. I checked with several downloaders and internet speed test programs, but the result was the same every time, what is preventing the speed from increasing! I remember I had such a problem when launching the tablet last year, and I have forgotten how the problem was solved. Now please guide me to increase the Wi-Fi speed again, thank you

Bought the Nokia T20 and it arrived last night. Wi-Fi is absolutely terrible. Kept dropping. Wi-Fi symbol shows connection but on wifi settings it says no internet. Constantly dropping out in the 3 hours I had it on updating, setting up and installing stuff I wanted. When it is connected my speeds are slow, I’m typically getting 15-20mbs on the Nokia T20. My internet speeds are 500mbs. On my phone I get 190mbs-350mbs. On my partners iPad she gets 180-320mbs and the babies fire hd 7 she gets 150-290mbs. Why is this tablet so slow? Wi-Fi speeds are terrible as is the connection. Any way to solve it it? Or I’m going to be returning it Monday

If you're experiencing connection issues with your T20 tablet and Amazon eero 6 router, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try before considering a return. Start by restarting both the tablet and router, as this can resolve temporary connectivity issues. Ensure that you are within a reasonable range of the router and minimize physical obstacles that may weaken the Wi-Fi signal.

  • If you are experiencing Wi-Fi issues on your T20 device, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure that you are within range of your Wi-Fi router and that the signal strength is sufficient. Move closer to the router or try connecting from a different location while 29 tarik lottery sambad to see if the issue is related to signal strength.
    2. Restart Router and Device: Sometimes, restarting your Wi-Fi router and the T20 device can resolve connectivity issues. Power off the router, wait for a few seconds, and then power it back on. Similarly, restart your T20 device and try connecting to Wi-Fi again.
    3. Verify Wi-Fi Settings: Double-check the Wi-Fi settings on your T20 device. Make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled and that you are connecting to the correct network. Ensure that you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password, if applicable.

Access the router settings and manually change the Wi-Fi channel to reduce interference. Additionally, you can reset the network settings on the tablet to clear any saved configurations. Make sure to check for firmware updates for both the tablet and the router, as updating to the latest versions can address known issues.

Bought a T20 on Wednesday for my son's birthday. Connected to my home Wi-Fi. While sitting about 6m (20ft) away from the router with clear line of site, I tried to setup the tablet. It kept hanging during the setup process. Eventually I was able to complete the setup. At the time I didn't realise it was the Wi-Fi disconnected.

Today was his birthday. He was delighted with the present and started playing a game that requires a Wi-Fi connection. The game kept disconnecting from the network. He tried a different game and the same thing happened. He was sitting about 6m (20ft) away from the router. He ended up having to sit right next to the router to be able to achieve a constant reliable connection.

I tried some of the suggestions mentioned in this thread e.g. update OS, power cycle router, forget network and reconnect, etc. None of these suggestions helped.

I checked my Wi-Fi connection the tablet had to the router and it was a 5GHz one. I changed to the 2.4GHz band and the connection issue went away. So it seems like 6m without any obstacles between the router and the tablet is too much to of a distance for the tablet to keep a 5GHz connection.

I could stick wtih the 2.4GHz band at the expense of the 5GHz signal which is definitely more ideal for gaming. Or send the tablet back to the store and get a completely different one. I know if I hand it into the service centre in the store they will run diags and come back and say there is no wrong with the tablet and the issue is with my router/ISP.

I messaged the Nokia support with my issue yesterday and I had reply in my inbox this morning saying to reset the network settings. I did that and it's working fine now on the 5GHz band.

I had tried everything but this when I posted my issue yesterday, even though the previous poster had also said to do this.

  • Recommend trying these steps to fix and repair the Wi-Fi connection issues with your T20 tablet:

       Restart the tablet and router.

Update the firmware on your Amazon Eroo 6 router.

Adjust the Wi-Fi channel on your router.

Verify the Wi-Fi settings on your tablet.

Reset the network settings on your tablet.

If the problem persists, contact customer support for further assistance.

These steps should help troubleshoot the issue before considering returning the tablet.

I had the issue on Sunday with it constantly disconnecting from the 5GHz band.

On Monday I reset the network settings and the issue went away.

Today (Tuesday) the issue has returned. I did not reset the network settings again as I believe this to be a temporary fix and I'm not happy to keep doing this. I have multiple devices in my home without any issue.

At this stage I think it's best to return it and get a different tablet manufacturer. I'll be staying away from Nokia.

Turns out I can't return it because I opened it, even though the sales rep said I can return it within 14 days and get a credit note it if has been opened (a refund if unopened).

I handed the tablet into the tech center in the store and they said there is nothing wrong with the tablet because they couldn't replicate it.

Spoke to the manager then who said they can send it off for a more thorough check but I will be charged a 'No Fault Found' fee if they can't find anything wrong with it.

Now I need to explain to my son that he won't have his tablet for 2 weeks, and I know I will get a call/mail from them saying that they found nothing wrong with the tablet and that I need to pay the NFF fee.

  • This similar issue I'm aslo facing in one of my nokia series aha world from couple of days. But thanks for every participant my issue is resolve after after their detailed guidence.
