Why Samsung is Preferred Over Nokia

You might have noticed that when it comes to premium phones, Nokia does not contend. It's even more astonishing to learn that, as Nokia chooses to focus on midrange and budget phones, it is still getting outdone by other brands in the same segment. There are 3 areas where Nokia needs to improve and they include

1. Performance.

Compared to other devices in the same budget range, Nokia phones either hang, overheat, or deliver low performance. It could be attributed to their choice of processor. Simple tasks take a little longer than usual to be executed and it can be disheartening to miss important appointments because the phone just does not respond. Take for instance, the Phone app not picking calls.

2. Pricing

For what it's worth, for the specs that Nokia offers, the pricing should be relatively lower. If one was brutally honest, he/she would say HMD is milking Nokia's name and relying on the good ol' nostalgia. If the prices are to be retained, an effort to bump up the specs a little should go without saying.

3. Software Update

Again, this cannot be emphasized enough, buggy and untimely software and security updates are abhorrent. I bet 1 in every 3 people who bought Nokia devices were taken in by the promise of using the latest software updates on their devices and when you look at other brands, Nokia leaves a lot to be desired.

My 2 cents, food for thought for the community.
