Problem with G22

Hello my G22 has had the following symptoms from when I first bought but now seem to be getting worse. This is an intermitent fault.

When I go to use mobile data, there is no data flow even though there is plenty of signal. I can see the phone attempting to send to the network, via the arrow symbols next to the 4G icon but no response. 

It happens at random times, whether I am at home or away from home. When it does happen no matter what I do it will not work. Reseting the network settings does not restore 4G mobile data. Restarting the device does not restore 4G mobile data. Then when I go to use it some hours later 4G data is working again. 

My partner has a phone on the same network, Telstra, which continues to work fine when my G22 has this problem.  

Wifi and Blue tooth on my G22 continue to work fine.    

I have made sure all software is up to date. I only use one sim. I only use the phone for email, web browsing and google maps.   

This is especially frustrating when using the phone for navigation. I can't trust it to work when I need it, away from home. Other phones I own do not exhibit this behaviour. 

When the symptoms appear I try resetting the network setings and using safe mode. It makes no difference.   

What are the next steps to fix this problem?

This issue takes too long to explain on live chat and sending an email via the nokia web site does not work.

  • My G22 is not getting any updates, your problem may be because of this . I'm stuck on A12, jan 2023 security patch ,but i have a G20 which is updated to A13 and has the latest update

  • Thankyou for your comment. You could be right. I hope software updates do fix it.

    But none of my other phones have this behaviour. So I might have a lemon phone. That's ok it happens. But contacting Nokia for a fix or replacement is so hard, I just give up. That is how I ended up here. I was attracted to the repair ability of this model G22. But mine just doesn't work intermittently and it's very hard to get a solution from Nokia. So I would be reluctant to buy another Nokia and return to the market leader.

    My G21 is on June 2023 updates and Android 13. You should have bought the G21. It's an impressive phone now with the latest updates. Otherwise, USE TWO SIM CARDS INSTEAD OF ONE! Your problem will disappear.
