Hi, newly registered users need to wait 24 hours before they can start creating new posts/discussions. This is a part of the spam prevention setup of the forum. Once you complete 24 hours, you will be upgraded to "Rank 2" with 2 stars next to your username. After that you can create posts normally.

Thank you. Found that out finally. Took me forever to find that from very very deep of these discussions.

One of the stupidest and worst things I have heard on any forum ever. I have ideas and points now, they don't want to wait for 24 hours. Or at least say it at the registering dont hide it deeeeeeeeep nto the forums.......

That only changes the DISPLAY NAME, not the User nAME. How can I delete my account and start over again?

The username can't be changed, you can only change Display Name now.

Update your own profile

1. Open your device's Settings app.
2. Tap System. Multiple users. If you can't find this setting, try searching your Settings app for users .
3. Tap your name. To change your profile name, enter a new name and then tap OK.

Doesn't work for me.

I go to Account & Privacy Settings and there's a Username (which is an email without the domain name part) with a pencil by it, but if I hover over the pencil it says I don't have permission to edit my username. (To avoid revealing my gmail address, I've created a throwaway email on a different email service to post this.)

I'm based in the UK; possibly users in other countries can edit their username (or even their display name if such a thing still exists--that's not shown at all for me).
