Nothing has been officially spoken about an update as of now. The update should be under some testing stage I believe. But unless it comes out, it is all speculation 😁

Gents, "before Easter" has been said by an HMD representative during Nokia 9 pureview official presentation in Milan, in front of the audience.

Sorry for the link being in Italian only.

Nowhere in the article did it say so. It only links to the month old tweet from Sarvikas. Don't get your hopes up about this phone ever being fixed.
  • Android One monthly security updates...... Google should remove the One logo from HMD its nothing but a scam.

    What's new:
    • Fingerprint sensor issue: fixed
    • Many improvements and fixes to Camera App
    • Display colors have been calibrated
    Rileva linguaundefined
    undefined
La funzione vocale è limitata a 200 caratteri
  • Just got the firmware update. The fingerprint scanner works awesome now. I never really had any camera issues. HMD took a little while but they did a great job and I'm super happy with it now

TechAltar has stated he has the update. He is impressed by it. Fingerprint reader is much better and the camera has been improved.
  • Camera Program update needed? After taking a picture camera stopped functioning and I could see "No connection to camera" on the screen, and the program / camera went down. However, I could see the picture that I've been taking in "Photos".
BTW, I could not find here any place for a new conversation...

Really good news. It's a lot negative comments about this phone outside, so hopefully potential buyers will get information about those updates.
  • The fingerprint scanner is better, but still a bit to go. Failing 40,%

Reset your fingerprints. It worked for me
  • After tesettres the fingers (3) it works at 90%. Well done

I did that and still same problem...
  • confirm. It's harder to register new fingerprint, but once done work perfect
  • Fingerprint scanner SEEMED great to me for a few hours, but it's back to slightly-better (but still poor) performance. I had previously deleted my fingerprints, so after the April18 update, I re-registered using the new setup. Yes, it's a more laborious process. After that, the scanner seemed to be working great, but (as before) quickly falls into a "working 30 - 40% of the time" behavior.

Unfortunately, I just have to return this phone. The fingerprint scanner should be 99%, but it's not. The Face Unlock often doesn't work in daylight conditions (for me) and never at night. Unlocking with a passcode (or pin) is about as 2012 as you can get.

You missed the boat on this one, Nokia :(

Interesting. I almost never had problem with the face recognition during daylight. But never at night either. I'm getting mine back to me next week due bank holidays here in UK. Will report my experience.
Did you try to give your phone to someone to open it with their finger. My friends opened it without problem in third try.
  • Deleted my previous fingerprints then installed the update. The scanner is still failing miserably.....I guess this issue is unfixable, perhaps it's the hardware. I can't return the phone coz it's been more than 30 days since I bought it, I don't want to sell it on Ebay coz I know whoever will buy it will just return it to me out of the same frustration I'm having. This phone will end up as a very expensive paper weight in my desk. This will be my last Nokia phone. I swear to god.

Ah, I'm getting mine next week, as I requested it back. Can't really say again, that I don't want it :/ I was sure, that this is fixed now. I will need to keep it. Phone has a warranty, so if after a few months they do not provide any good updates and if this is a hardware error, I’m sure they will need to resolve it somehow.

The problem is the fact that the fingertip sensor is behind the screen, Steve Litchfield points out in the latest edition of The Phones Show (359) - it's on YouTube. The problem exists with a lot of the other phones, so Nokia 9 is by no means alone. Just thought I'd mention it...

Fingerprint sensor works great for me after the April update.
  • After update fingerprint still sucks😖 It is fare from stable. Still have to press hard on the screen. Often the finger is not reconized. Hard to see the improvement. 😢
  • I can't point out any problems that people tell here... Before the update my fp.scanner had a accuracy of 80% and now its 100%, the camera app never showed any problems and is now even faster. Overall I'm happy with the update.

FP scanner now works better for me, but I have same experience like Yipcanjo. After registration it behaved great. Then falling down to circa 30% successful scans. I always scanned same finger again in that situation. I ended up with my thumb scanned as 5 fingers. Then successful rate was about 80%. Its ridiculous. On my previous iPhone (5S,6,8) and LG (V30) these problems were nonexistent. I understand these problems can be part of technology used. But tell me, why other phones in reviews dont have these problems (like Mi9).
Also I found interesting information about OnePlus 6T fingerprint scanner optimalization. Maybe its the way to go also for Nokia:

“Every time a user successfully unlocks the phone with their fingerprint, the sensor also records areas of the finger that weren’t registered in the initial fingerprint setup stage. This fingerprint data is then added to the data the phone already holds, making it more complete. So, every time the in-display fingerprint sensor is used, it gathers more data about the user’s fingerprint. This means that over time, the phone will unlock even faster.”

It seems to me that if I position finger in the center of registered area, it will be scanned with good accuracy. So I still see this problem like positioning of finger and bad composition of scanned areas.

Maybe to be able to add finger data to already scanned finger would be great.
  • After the update my chatprogramms freeze, making them impossible to use I did not try the fingerprint sensor. The camera is working fine.
  • What's happening here ?
it seems not everyone is happy about the update.

    2017 ?
  • I've had issues with the Camera right from the start.
Every time after starting the app I got the dreaded "Cannot connect to the Camera" error within a few seconds.

Since the update from a week ago I can launch the camera app and it works 'fine'.
However, when I try to take a picture, the app freezes, and will not resume.

    Anyone here with this issue?
