hi i originally had pixel apk camera app on my nokia 8 shorty after I bought it as it made a big improvement to the camera/image quality. After the upgrade to nougat (9.0) that apk would no longer work , everytime i tried to open it would force close.
So I got MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V2d_plus2.apk from https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
however I notice it doesn't work as good as the old apk did on the previous android version. This one the shutter speed is very slow. It seems be ok the first few shots but then gets slower or stutters as if it has to catch up.
is there a more improved apk somewhere? what are you using at the moment?

Here's the link to the camera that @Francesco Bacchini recommended in his article, I've installed and configured it as specified in his article and I can confirm that it works quite well on Nokia 8.

I just wanted to share with the community some updates about the newest Google Camera Portings released.
Here's my latest suggestions:
MOST STABLE VERSION (GCAM P3, DEVELOPER CSTARK)
[LINK REMOVED, but download the latest from CStark on the official website named celso azevedo]
Follow these settings:
save location on
sounds off
google lens on
gestures (to your own liking)
grid 3x3
advanced: everything turned on except raw+jpeg
photo resolution (both front and back) set to max 13 mpx
resolution for video UHD 4k 30 fps
video-stabilizer OFF (don't forget to do that)
then...
under P3 MOD SETTINGS
everything ON, EXCEPT the following:
AI AWB IN HDR
FOCUS TRACKING
DISABLE ALIGN
MANUAL EXPOSURE
MANUAL FOCUS
Then go back to the viewfinder and don't forget to tap the HDR Icon and set it all the way to the right the maximum which is HDR + Enhanced.
