Smart Lock does not work/ disappeared after the last update. How do I get it back?

Go to Settings > Security & location > Trust agents; disable Smart Lock and restart your phone. After the restart enable Smart Lock again and your Smart Lock should be up running again.

 

Why are there no specific Nokia built in apps?

Nokia 3.1 belong to our Android One family. Android One stands for a ‘pure Android’ experience, which means the OS is delivered in its purest form, without any pre-installed apps or skins. Our consumers can pick exactly what applications they want on their phones.

 

When do I get the new Security Patch? 

Google’s Security Patches are released monthly and depending on the hardware in your phone. As these releases have specific hardware dependencies, we will need to ensure your phone is fully supported before we can test and release those to the operator. Once the quality has been assured, the Security Patch will be delivered to your phone. Due to this, the Security Patches are dependent upon your device model, operator and also your location.

 

Is Nokia 3.1 part of Android One? 

Yes

 

What are the benefits of Android One?

With Android One your phone is guaranteed monthly security updates for at least 3 years after the initial phone release.


I still haven’t received an update, even though it was announced. What can I do? 

Software rollouts are a phased process so the timing of Android upgrades will vary by country and operator. In case you haven’t received your update yet, get in touch with our support team to learn more about it.

    security updates are irregular now . Probably appears at the end of the month .Tho previously it came at the beginning of month .and the september patch is continuing still. Instead of a new security patch!

    Nokia 3.1 , 4 days old and the back almost exploded .
    Started after 24h swelling to the point that the back plastic cover cracked, ended shutting the phone off and put aside...sent to repair this morning .

    There is quite noticible lump under the cracks.

    This was NOT what i was expecting from a Nokia phone.

    Здравствуйте! У меня Nokia 3.1. И вот такая проблема. В течении дня пользуясь VK, Telegram, Chrome, то к вечеру уже новостная лента в них не обновляется и не загружается, пока не перезагружу устройство. После перезагрузки смартфона, лента новостей в этих приложениях сразу же обновляется.
    И это происходит каждый день! Как с этим бороться??? Потому, что это бывает либо утром, либо днём, либо вечером!

    J'aimerais connecter ma mannette de Xbox One a mon téléphone. J'ai regardé plusieurs tuto sur youtube afin de pouvoir le faire mais le téléphone ne detecte pas la mannette. Comment faire ???

    I also have it in my mobile. Is that a manufacturing defect . Sad to here that.

    Hello All,

    I am trying to keep watch on on Nokia 3.1 on black screen, let me inform this option works fine when in charging. But same doesn't work when there is no charging on. I tried with some 3rd party app but it is consuming heavy battery. Anyone has any suggestion on this?

    I installed using a VPN app to spoof my location as India.  Not seen any dates for UK yet, obviously not a priority market for HMD

    I tried the VPN trick and it didn't work for some reason. Maybe I missed something, I did leave my UK SIM card in, maybe that was the problem.

    On my Nokia 3.1 running Android 9 Pie: Unable to disable startup sound using settings or apps, so want to remove or rename the sound file itself. I found lots of audio files under /system, but can't identify the right one. Can anyone please say which .mp3 is responsible for the Nokia startup sound?

    That's too sad for a smart company like this. It happened once in my phone but it never again. My phone just pop that the temperature is beyond normal, then I had to cool it manually with air flow. But never happened again. Did you got updated of your software since you bought? It might settle the situation. You just allow your phone to Wi-Fi network then it will update it self.

    I have never been so frustrated and disappointed in a phone, any phone, before. My Nokia 3.1 is less than 2 weeks old and is about to go into the rubbish bin, I don't care about the waste of money, I'd rather have a phone that works! I have a drawer full of old Nokia phones, I have always loved Nokia....until now!
    When I answer a call (if it lets me - often the call details are on screen, I try to answer but the screen shows PIN lock ghosted with numerous other apps ghosted in the background, none of which can be accessed) the alarm app opens, the stopwatch starts, Chrome opens......
    No matter what I do the phone will not connect to my computer (I have a Nokia 3 from which I transferred everything - it connects immediately so its not a cable problem), it does not even show as a portable device, it refuses to let me change any of the USB preferences and even says 'Do not charge via USB', yet it charges via USB. I would not be exaggerating if I said I reboot the phone 8-10 times a day (hard and soft depending on what has gone wrong). Developer Options do nothing - I can change USB defaults there but it has no effect, the phone returns to what it was doing (or not doing) before. I have updated everything with no effect at all. Interestingly, on day 1, all was working fine but not at all since. I even did a factory reset. No change.
    I will not have a Nokia again and can only recommend that nobody else buy one either!

    Very said and unluckily @ SickNTired, you should question the phone and exchange it for another. My wife is using Nokia 3.1 for 8 months and nothing bad was happend...

    Hello, can anyone help me through.. I've tried upgrading my Nokia 3.1 to 9 pie,  twice but failed to update.. I don't know why it's like that. Please can you help me with a solution to that?

    It's better if you don't update it. The android 9 update will mess up your phone. Try and keep it on android oreo, it's way better and i regret updating it to pie.

    Got Nokia 3.1 in the past 5days I've been trying to update it from 8.0 to 9.0 but after it finished downloading the 1.3gb update it fails to install I've tried all possible solution to have it download but still failed

    This phone is nonsense 
    The phone asked me to do a system update about 4 days ago and after I did, the phone couldn't access the music files on the memory card. I can only play directly on the file..I can't play music google play music o any other app. I couldn't even set music as my ringtone/message tone anymore. 😡😡😡

    Have same problem, phone will only use Nokia tones, will not allow music to be used. Defaults to same sound used when connecting power. Screen gone from 4 x4 icon to 5x5 and can`t change display size.

    I set volume to automatically turn to full ring when in pocket, while i was using Android 8.1, now on Android 9 that setting is gone, i can't stand my phone ringing on full volume. Please help on this.

    Have to say i regret buying a Nokia, and will never do so again. The wi-fi regularly cuts out.
    Followed the instructions to reset wi-fi, which was ok for a day or two, but is now again starting to cut out! Was a complete waste of money!
