I have signed up for DP and Beta from devices even without a SIM card and putting random charts for the "operator". It all went fine. Maybe because the IMEIs were from India where no device is carrier locked.
@hotfix, good luck with the Pixel. I wish HMD did the DP better so that developers would like this phones. But ah.. I guess Pixel is all that developers should buy. Latest OS before others and enough time to test and make the apps work well. Meanwhile, if you're still on it and you send me a screenshot of the exact build number that you're on, I can probably spot a new Q build on the internal server and share it with you (privately ofc). But i wont be able to comment on how fully it will be supported in the future. Like if you get an upgrade path or not.
Edit: I see a release which goes from 259G to 4040. Our existing Q build was 4011. So, a new build is cooked. It also takes the latest public release 259G as the base. But idk if HMD will push it or just keep it internally.
I think Software eng from HMD also leaving the company as some recent big heads too, They r literally low on resources nd can't provide any alpha beta updates, Last year they had dp for 2-3 devices with regular patch releases . If Nokia will not intervene now ,I don't think HMD will continue much
I would like to see more updates to the beta Q build . How can we test the new features of Android Q?! I am believing more and more that the next update will be the release candidate
Google released beta 5 but it remains very silent @Nokia beta :-( I think iwill do away with my 8.1 and go back to pixel.
Google aren't the ones who do the developer builds for other OEMs. i believe Nokia is taking so much time since it has to make the Beta released by Google compatible with it's devices. i do agree that they should be faster than this though
I have purchased a Nokia 8.1 (TA-1128) purely because I need a device that is participating in the Android Q developer preview program My new device has been updated to the May Security Patch 00WW_2_59E_SP01 I am in the United Kingdom The device was purchased Sim-free so is not attached to any particular carrier When I try to add my device to access the preview build, all I get is an "IMEI not found" error
The IMEI has been entered correctly Can anybody offer any advice please? Thanks
I am also having the same problem in my device (I'm from India)
Has anybody been able to ascertain whether the June patch should be in place or not? The Developer Preview page is still suggesting not, but is that information out of date? Thanks
One plus today released 3rd Android Q beta based on Q DP5 , for Op 6/6t/7/7 Pro today. This is android and nd we stuck with 1 beta that's on early preview than Q DP1
Google released beta 5 all pixel phones but nokia still too much lagging beta user got beta 3 version only. without providing latest beta version how to they know software issue and user feedback to enhance Android Q for nokia phones.
I think getting beta version from google and kept only thier github alone
remember when nokia said they'd make OTA Support for the better availability mid July ?
yeah. good times.
if only it wasn't almost August now, with only one version of the beta available that's still based on Beta 3.
I do not need OTAs. I'd rather want them to give us something, even if the same old sideload package. Maybe they would have been better not jumping into the Android Q beta marketing if they weren't prepared. Keep taking wrong steps time and again.
How to install android q? Help me, I have no idea... I m using Nokia 8 n since pie update m facing serious issues like device restarting when I open games/camera/receiving calls and also sound is lagging
Can someone from HMD Global dev team comment when we can expect update. Silence is not sounds very professional way to increase our trust and commitment to your products! If you need our help you have to be open for us!
This is ridiculous for HMD global. One plus has launched android q beta 4 to their latest mobiles but nokia is still behind from them. It seems nokia want to loose their customer's trust again.
Greetings Nokia 8.1 Android Q developer
preview fans.
We are pleased to announce that the Beta 5
Developer preview build is now available for sideload (V4.070). This release
also includes the July 2019 Security Patch. At the moment we are only able to
offer an upgrade from Android Q Beta 3 to Android Q Beta 5. An upgrade from
Android 9 Pie to Android Q Beta 5 is in the works and will be released shortly,
so stay tuned!
Please note, we are unable to offer the
Android developer preview builds to devices in China, Russia, or to certain
network providers.
The program currently supports models
TA-1119, TA-1121 and TA-1128. To check your device is compatible, go to
Settings > System > About Phone > Model & hardware.
If you see reference to “00WW” and your
locale is not Russia, then you’re good to go.
If you see reference to “00CN”, or if your
locale is Russia, then please do not use these builds.
