After Installing the Google App Version 10.87.18 armv7a from the website apkmirror.com ,Now I am able to see a new feature name Ambient Mode along with one more option below that
OS - Android 8.1 Oreo
And after enabling the options ,this is the first screenshot of that ambient mode
Can anyone confirm it by trying out the apk and tell it here ??

That's not going to happen. I have it unlocked but it is of no use as no one is developing for that phone.

We all know that they won't.
Did you forget kartik that HMD didn't update 2 OSes to nokia 2 and broke their promise! Now ending support also! It's better that HMD must rectify their mistakes and give us unlocked bootloader to our nokia 2 device ASAP, so we Nokia 2 users can enjoy further OS upgrades!!!
I know and I too want unlockable bootloader. But HMD never listens. :(
HMD need to be taught a lesson and warn people to not buy their devices because they don't do what they promise so if there is any celebrate from the company Nokia/HMD near to you go there and spoil their scam and show the real face of HMD before they buy and that surely will teach them a lesson that is highly painful ! So they will stop mess with customers or they will go out of business and developers may break their bootloader and they will give the keys for free

Ambient Mode is made available by Google from Android 8.0 Oreo onwards ,so for nougat might not have that feature
Even you can update the Google app from play store and go to
Google app>More>Settings>Google Assistant>Assistant>Assistant device>Phone>personalisation>Ambient Mode
This is the path for activating the ambient mode but since from the users of Twitter and social media has confirm that the option is not available for Nougat
As Google said ,it is available from V10.87.18 for Android 8.0 Oreo OS onwards
