[Merged]Nokia 7.2 shutdown during charging

Anyone here using Nokia 7.2 have this issue?

When you charge your phone, it will shutdown automatically.

I have 2 units of Nokia 7.2 with me, both having same issue. Using Nokia original charger and cable.

I observe this abnormality after the second January update.

我手上有兩台Nokia 7.2，都出現這個問題。

充電器和充電線都是Nokia原廠的。

如果觀察沒錯，這是在第二個一月更新後才出現的問題…

Maybe it is some sort of protection? (For example thermal or overcharging protection)

I'm quite sure that's some kind of a HW failure.

(If software there would be many, many more reports of this type of behavior)

I had that exact problem with my 7.2 in beginning and after few turns at service they agreed (finally!) to change the 'mainboard'.

After that (got it back just few days ago) that hasn't happened again. Knock on wood! 🤞

Yeah, same happens to me. Not always, though. Nokia! -fix it.

I rely on it for the morning alarm.

Mine restarts – I've had to stop charging it over night so I can unplug it as soon as it hits 100%. I've also noticed the charging icon never changes to indicate charging is complete, although maybe this is expected behaviour.

After exchange of 'mainboard' my phone seems to be stable... 🤞

Battery life/capacity are unchanged but phone feels a bit snappier (running v1.400)

I have same issue with both of my Nokia 7.2. It seems like the issue start after the second January update for Nokia 7.2.

Hopefully is a software bug, not a hardware issue.

I charged my phone overnight yesternight and nothing bad happened. It was still working fine in the morning. I was connected to WiFi. I'll try with mobile data tonight :)

That might solve the symptom but not the real root cause.

I am not entirely convinced that it depends (only) on the software.

I turned off adaptive battery for both phone, so far manage to charge to 100% without restart. Will observe again...

I'm having the same issue.. not every night .. maybe once a week.. just powers down at night. I too used to use it for my alarm.. now I use my work phone for my alarm. I really want my work phone off late at night. Help Nokia

Hi,

My new (three weeks) Nokia 7.2 has for at least four times shut itself down while on stand by mode and the battery is around 20%. I don't understand why.

The result is me believing that the phone is on (20% battery should last a couple of hours at least, on stand by) and people trying to contact me only to find that the phone is off.

To make things stranger still, the phone does not do that if I'm using it (sometimes even playing a game, something that is always battery intensive) and the battery runs under 20% or even 10% -- never had it shut down at 0% battery so far.

Apparently ir only shuts itself down while on stand by mode with low bat...

Any ideas, anyone?

Charge your phone to 100% and let it run until it turns off because of the batterie is empty. Repeat this two or three times so it should calibrate the electronic for the state of charge of the batterie. Do not charge between. I did this with my old iPhone which does not fix the bad battery but made the procentage display more reliable.

I am also facing the same issue. My phone shuts down occasionally while in the charger. It is really annoying as I am using the phone as my alarm clock also and this problem has led to miss alarm several times. So bad.
