[Update]Android 10 Roadmap for Nokia phones

I don't know about you.. but it promised updated OS to me, this is the only reason I have purchased Nokia phone, after reading all the details of Android one.😂

That's not true. Android one has a guarantee of at least two OS updates... And the whole program is based on swift updates...

Unfortunately Nokia just don't have the capability to meet their promise.

So why am I waiting seven months for Android 10, which was suposed to come within a month of the phones launch? Android 11 is getting ready for release...

a roadmap was developed and also updated due.to delays. what phone are you using?

There was never any promise of Android 10 being rolled out to any HMD Nokia phones within one month of the phone's launch or of Android 10 launch. Never, I'm certain of that.

@AwaraLucky, Android One does guarantee 3 years of security updates and 2 OS upgrades, but there is no guarantee about timescales for either. Android Enterprise recommended guarantees that security updates are provided within 3 months of their release by Google.

I know it's frustrating, but it's not as frustrating as your phone getting updated and suddenly being full of bugs.

There is a tutorial on internet which lets you to force the upgrade. I upgraded mine that way. Search for it on Google.

yes Nokia does guarantee about timescale for updates. it's not in the form of days or months. but timescale is in another form. let me explain you.

I think you people are not a good reader. sorry for that.🙂 If you have ever read about Android One program, it clearly say if there is new OS or feature releases "Android One will get it first before than anyone else."

Now you tell me what do you understand by "before than anyone else?

i don't care you deliver new update within a month or after 100 years, thats ok. but it should be "before than anyone else.

this was the deal on Android one program and the deal is broken by Nokia aka HMD Global.

the company known for the worst software update also delivered android 10 to their phones. and a so called number one company in software update is still in the toilet.😂

That is the problem. If you can not fulfill the deals don't promise anything. don't fool the people.

Ok, and another timescale they guaranteed was Android 10 Raodmap.😂 on that roadmap they clearly mentioned time for Android 10 release... what happened to that? Roadmap changed😂 and this is again going to happen.

now about the full of bug update. if this will going to happen it again total fault of Nokia. how?

If you took 7 months or so to release the update and it's still buggy it means your team is not skilled at all. please find the right peoples.

If you wanted to deliver a buggy updates then you should have been delivered the new OS update withing a month after OS release from google.

but now you have already took so much time that a single bug is not tolerable.

This is my first and Last HMD Global phone. I'm moving to Samsung in next few months.

I am not completely agreed with you 😉. But Nokia ranking 2 for updation new software first one is google. How ever Nokia should check the update before releasing it. Because the update bring most phones in two bugs.

Otherwise there will happens like 7.2 sim card issue and network issue caused by Android 10🥺. Still belive you Nokia

No, the problem is getting the firmware to work with the hardware designed by an OEM manufacturer and having to stall the rollouts due to the updates causing massive faults with phones

Hello there. I recommend to you. Search Nokia updates tracker on Google Chrome then selected your model then site well show you which was the last updated released on that country. And if you are missing updates please follow force update method shown by Nokia Power user. Thank you

I partially agree with you about the Android 10 roadmap, but things like that should never be considered a hard commitment, they are always best endeavours, and of course there has been a global pandemic kicking off in the past 4-5 months hasn't there? 🤔

You might be right about my reading skills but I'm pretty sure I'm a thorough reader. Let's test this - give me the link to the Nokia or Android page which says that Android One phones will get the updates before anyone else and I'll see if I can read that line myself 😉

The "Ranked #1 for Android updates" claim is based on a counterpoint study, see more here:

Quality of the updates isn't taken into account in that study but the rest of it is pretty fair and balanced.

@Jonas Jurgutis, the UK is often the last place to receive updates due to the way all the network operators have to approve the updates before they are authorised to be rolled out. You just need to be patient or try the VPN trick. Note that if your phone is dual-SIM be certain that the problem with dual-SIM is fixed before updating. Over a year ago I didn't update my Nokia 8 until the geotagging and compass was fixed, which took 4-5 months.
