[Update 05/05/20] Android 10 on Nokia 4.2

Yup, i wont buy Nokia again. Its not what i expected when i bought android one device. It should get a10 max 1 month after google pixels, now i got a10 on 2xsamsungs and nokia is still waiting. I was hoping for a Nokia back to glory days but i wont buy it again and 100% i wont buy flagship from it for myself. This 4.2 for my mother was last one.

Hello, what about security updates and Android 10 for TA-1133 in LATAM? I sill have the october 2019 security update :(.

Puedes actualizar vía vpn, ya que Nokia nos abandonó. O las operadoras, o la entidad gubernamental que regule esto en tu país, porque ya no hay a quien responsabilizar. Solo se lavan las manos, sobre todo, Nokia.

I think the problem is Movistar. In Chile I had to force security patches, because they were never released for Nokia 4.2. Hopefully better luck with this update to Android 10.

My dad has his Nokia 5.1 Plus purchased with Movistar and has the August 2019 patch. Shameful!

Hey @HMDLaura Its about my Nokia, sometimes it blacks out for about 5secs, what might be wrong?

@HMDLaura I think your described deadlines are not true, because in Chile the update has not yet arrived and I am getting tired of misleading advertising. Communicationally as a company they are lousy, it is better not to make these types of announcements if they are not going to be met.

Dear Nokia. When i can expect A10 Update for Nokia 4.2 in Poland Orange? Its over 1 month of waiting since first wave. This is getting ridiculous.

"friend", do you get paid to defend the indefensible? Let's assume Nokia announces updates for one or two build numbers and gives them the "best in updates". So any. It's easy to make a paraphernalia to announce the release of the update for two complication numbers, when they have about 30 different series. A mere show.

No I don't get paid, I don't work for HMD and I'm pretty certain that just asking "Did you ask their support team directly? Again?" isn't trying to defend anything 😃

I only asked if Lordbeny had asked support because I'm interested to know the answer. When I had difficulties updating my Nokia 8 they gave me a load of steps to go through (which didn't work, so I forgot them) and in the end what worked was a dead SIM from another provider in another country!

If we get enough information together we might actually be able to work out why some people aren't getting the updates.

Oh, and asking support and trying what they tell us might actually help! 😆

Yes, that's what they always say first time, they are trying to fob you off so they don't have to actually work. You could reply and tell them that Wave 2 should already be complete and others in your country got the update so why didn't your phone, then they should give you some things to try.

What was your specific case? Does anyone else report that their 4.2 went wrong after updating? What failures do they present?

Thank you very much for your answer. I am nostalgic for Nokia, but something went wrong with HMD and I recently renewed my device, but I feel unhappy with the support provided by this brand. I honestly wonder if my next cell will be Nokia.

And the worst thing is that @HMDLaura must read us, she appears with her last connection hours ago.

At home there is a Nokia 4.2, 5.1 Plus and 7.2 and in my region the update-delayed as usual-seems nowhere near being reliable to install on any of those models.

Critical bug only if you use DUAL SIM in phone. If you use one sim - understand.
