I'm badly experiencing issue with both wifi connection and wifi direct connection after android 9 update. Anyone please help to resolve the same.

Hi Vishnu, we'll do our best to get you back online as quickly as possible.

When you're sure the issue isn't related to the Wi-Fi or router itself, the first thing you can try to get it back online is to go to:

Settings -> More-> Network Setting Reset-> Reset Settings-> Reset Settings

Resetting the network settings won't interfere with any other settings or customizations on the phone, it's safe and any important data or files won't be lost.

Settings > Apps > Carrier Services > Storage > Clear data and Clear cache.
Please turn off mobile data and Bluetooth and set your Wi-Fi network manually:
Settings > Wi-Fi > Add network.

@megan December update made the phone a little hang while switching between apps. Please look into it.

I've tried 3 different routers and the Nokia 6.1 will not send or receive email over WiFi. LG G3, G4 and Samsung S8 all work fine with these routers and email. If I turn off WiFi the 6.1 works fine with a data connection but we don't have unlimited data here in Canada so I can't use that. I've had numerous discussions with Nokia support on this and they can't fix the problem. I've cleared cache a number of times, did factory resets from Recovery several times, done the Graphics update from Recovery several times. Sometimes it works for a few times but always stops working again. How do I get my money back?

I just purchased a Nokia 3.1 plus for cricket I connected it to the Wi-Fi after connecting to Wi-Fi the phone updated to the 9 pie after the phone and restarted I have to try to reconnect to Wi-Fi now will not connect to any Wi-Fi I know it is not my routerbecause my son's phone connected to the router my wife's phone connected to the Xbox connected to the router my wife's laptop connected to the routerbefore the update my phone connected to the router now after the update it will not connect to the router please help or I will have to get a refund on this phone I'm just bad reviews because from what I have read in the comments ever since the 9 pie update your Nokia phones are not connecting to Wi-Fi what are you guys doing to fix this what is wrong with my brand new phone that you guys break so hard about

Having the same. At first I thought that it may be the Google Carrier Services app. I uninstalled it and the issue remained the same. Mobile Network is working fine. But it's absolutely impossible to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Even if I did, I cannot maintain a functioning connection.

Not sure about WiFi Direct, but WiFi connection is just fine here on my 6.1+

No Fix from Nokia. It's not caring of consumers. Was very Happy when I bought this mobile but no fixes from Nokia on this issue

Hello, I just got my 800 tough in the mail, everything works great except for the WIFI. It will find the network and connect but it won't stay connected for more than a second, the. Goes back to looking for AP address, and just goes in circles connections disconnecting for a few minutes untill it says that it was not able to connect. Help please.

It seems as if this is still an ongoing problem with Nokia phones.

I recently acquired a brand new Nokia 6.2 (Android 9) from the online Nokia store (bought for me) and I have nothing but issues with the WiFi. It drops for a few milliseconds and reconnects again up to 5 seconds later, showing the notification indicating that there is No Internet Connection (briefly, it even plays my notification sound). Even though other Android devices work properly on the same connection within the same property.

I've tried the suggested advice given by Megan back in 2018. But this hasn't yielded any positive outcomes.

If you have any further information on what causes this issue and what the actual fix is, that would be beneficial.

I just updated my nokia3 to the what what 9. Before the update my phone connected well to my home WiFi. Now after update I can't connect let alone try to. What is going on? May I be assisted as soon as possible because I can't continue using mobile data it is way expensive this side.

I am a loyal Nokia customer. Been using Nokia phones since 2004. Don't let me down

I solved same problem with setting of Wi-Fi on router site.

Wifi on my router was defined as WPA2 and after change to WPA, Nokia is connected well.

WIFI CONNECTION FIX!!!

I recently bought a Nokia 3.1 plus. I share 15 GB data with my wife. As so many others, I have found it impossible to connect to WiFi. I FOUND A SOLUTION FOR ME. BUT ONLY AT HOME. I've found I MUST RECONFIGURE MY ROUTER. I cannot connect to any other WiFi. And even at home, I'm not as safe. You must configure your router to WEP PROTOCOL. CONNECTS PERFECTLY AND STAYS CONNECTED.

Connecting to anything but WEP is impossible. If you are limited in router configuration knowledge, call your provider support and ask them to HELP YOU set your wireless connection to WEP PROTOCOL. You can only connect at home. In the meantime NOKIA, SHAME ON YOU. ISSUE AN UPDATE. WE ARE AVERAGE WORKING CLASS. I ALONG WITH OTHERS WILL NOT RECOMMEND NOKIA TO OUR FRIENDS. WE CANNOT USE WIFI ANYWHERE BUT HOME. WEP IS OLD TECH AND WAY LESS SECURE. WE SPEND OUR MONEY. YOU GET PAID. THERE IS NO SUPPORT. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. AN OTHERWISE GOOD PHONE. YOU COULD JUSTIFY MORE MONEY ON THIS PHONE...(IF) IT WORKS. WEP??? COME ON NOW. ACCEPTABLE? NOT!
