You don't need to rename the file for adb sideload. You might want to give it a more convenient name though but terminal autocomplete will help anyways.
I wasn't being rude, sarcastic maybe but not rude. Besides, it shouldn't matter where you live as the rollout is staged worldwide so my original comment still stands.
As you may see some one of us visualize a different page with version 4.15. I can obtain different pages connecting from my mobile or using my wired connection on my PC. So there's something wrong on their site...cache issue? IP Geolocation?
Every company can have issues developing, testing and rolling out software....but keep BEING SILENT IT'S FAR WORST than every kind of issue you may have.
GIVE SUPPORT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS and talk to them. Reply to your user base, explain, engage a community......
This is an horrible way of acting with a wide huge customer base like the owners of Nokia 7 Plus. Keep being silent it's like a boomerang for a company that repeat every day that their slogan is "pure, secure, up to date and #keepsgettingbetter".
Is that so hard to understand? Can someone inside HMD calls FIH to ask what happen during the last six months of unpatched bugs and now with this 4.15 staged rollout? And then can they elaborate a version and take 5 mins to reply to this thread with an official statement? @HMDLaura
Still no update , and that security update page is different on every device that is used to get there.
And yes, another Advertisement on my phone today from nokia mob saying our 7 plus has been getting the new may MR,
WHICH IS A LOT OF MARKETING BULLSHIT AND NOT TRUE.
They even show a security update page with yet another date of updates , a date i'm sure nobody will actually see, because it seems this HMD has a different plan for every other customer.
After three HMD phones I can't believe that Nokia networks gave an exclusive license for 10 years to use their brand to HMD. If there's someone at Nokia that can read this, he should think a lot about that license...and we're not talking about difficulties or we are not understanding. We waited months, we read every single day about great astonishing models, wonderful updates and so on...but we have to face a totally different reality.
I think they have snapped ties with FIH, which lead to poor functioning of Nokia phones. HMD still has Finnish players who are ex employees of Nokia so I think the main hiccup was with FIH.
You're partially right....imho FIH constructed model are real bad in hardware and software design, support and so on....
But apart from these, apart from Finnish roots, there's no company in the world that can succeed constantly ignoring customers complaints or tweeting just only about updates, new models, promising things that never happened (like more bootloader unlock).
It's no matter of the fact you're a small startup with a huge opportunity to use a glorious brand: the market didn't ask them to realease tons of different models done by different ODM worldwide...can a startup company ensure the same quality check that an INDUSTRY like Nokia did during 80s or 90s? It's practically impossible in terms of human resources. They have not direct building factories and, to be honest, they do not even have a sort of direct Q&A controls on the ODM factories that manufacture both software and hardware for them.
Do they have a sort of feedback app on their phones to rapidly collect issues or bugs from their customers? Xiaomi has it on Mi A3 Android One based phone: you can argue that is just a sort of cosmetic app...but at least if you send a feedback you can cluster your question, auto attach a sort of log and a bit of telemetry will be done on your phone before sending.
Look at this forum too...in the first few months after opening it it was great. I've got a couple of private msg even with two direct moderators I think they we're in some sort connected directly with HMD (maybe employs)....now there's absolutely nothing...there's not even a bug report form on their site with a few organized question to report a bug.
A moderator could at least organize bug reporting on each phone discussion thread......nothing of it. Maybe they have no interest at all now. Wil their future be bright? I'll wait a bit more for my Nokia 7 Plus end of support...then I will switch to another brand considering the cheaper version of the Google Pixel.
My first Nokia was the 7110, then N70...I had 3 Lumias and at least 3 fetures phone....but this HMD phones has just the Nokia brand on their top. I repeat, it's my opinion...but I can't remember in years that Nokia would not have address major issues on their phone after 6 months of waiting.
Not surprised... They were just trying to milk as much from Nokia brand. They did not seem serious about phone market.
Their primary goal ws to raise Nas much revenue through volume sales. This also shows in graphs when it peaked initially. When the customers started realising the true after sales horror and defects, the sales plateaued, which finally started to go South.
Nokia has itself to be blamed. If they don't do something drastic it won't be long before..
I'm not at all surprised by this survey result, because I too am a buyer who would prefer paying a bit premium for a smartphone which is by a brand that has a legacy value, and that's why I chose Samsung Galaxy A7 priced at 29000 in 2015, and Nokia 7 Plus priced at 26000 in 2018, when similar specs were offered by a Xiaomi phone for half of the price.
But the kind of ignorance I experienced from HMD Nokia has made me regret my decision every single day. I even recommended many of my friends to go with Nokia, and they did, but now they too curse me for wasting their money.
HMD got an initial spike because everyone was going gaga over the return of a brand of their childhood, and so they were interested in buying their phones. But then the eventual downfall was bound to happen because they never cared of the customer feedback and experience. A typical launch-and-forget attitude cannot make any brand achieve a good foothold in the market. But they didn't realized it, and surprisingly, are still relying on encashing the legacy of Nokia.
What can be said more about the after-sale experience, that until last year, the Nokia Service Center in my city was operating in Huawei-MI-Lenovo combined service center. The new one is also nothing interesting too. The experts are not much knowledgeable (you would be surprised to know that they don't even know what unlocking bootloader, or flashing a ROM, or even recovery mode, mean). The charging port stories of users are well known. Twitter is filled with them. Almost all the phone models had charging port issues, and most of the users were unable to get them rectified/ replaced because the service centers were not having replacement parts.
I can't say what would happen in future, but this survey does gives a blurry, but true insight of the future of HMD in India, and probably in the world.
And yes. I know, none of the officials from HMD give a damn about reading user feedback, still I write long paragraphs here, coz that's only what an end-user can do.

When the MR update for 6.1 owners :/ ¿?
tnx
Because it's last updated on 12th May , update came later
You can
I have installed it via ADB sideload on my TA 1046. It works without problems.
I wasn't being rude, sarcastic maybe but not rude. Besides, it shouldn't matter where you live as the rollout is staged worldwide so my original comment still stands.
@AniketThakur i think Nokia pulled back update. Screenshot attached from FB page.
Nah
Well, it's june 2 and mine is still at april 1 level.
while the phone now reports two different levels of update with the exact same wording. one says april 1; the other claims may 1.
Again both indicate different things for what is worded the same.
I'm getting the idea the sales agreement concerning updates is not being honored by HMD at all.

One more bug to fix for sure!
Nokia mobile new salogan

Nokia officially released version 4.15 as they reported on the version pages (you can see a screenshot above). They declared release date May 22nd
Any company not taking feedback from their customers through whichever medium is bound to fail sooner or later... I agree to that.
Tak mi takovou společnost řekni, myslím že to nedělá ani jedna společnost prostě na to hází bobky aby odpovídali svým zákazníkům ani to není možné.
Anyone surprised here?
Hey , HMD if you are reading this thread by mistake...for buggy updates...boomerang😂😂😂😂

Well couldn't wait more, so just sideloded the update 🤣
Edit: Only thing that disappeared is the play protect device certification in Play Store settings. Eh! doesn't matter
They are seriously taking more time than expected... Are they going to release MR for 6.1, 5.1 followed by 7 plus the way they released A10?
Another strange thing is only 1-2 users have confirmed that they got the release via OTA, rest all of them sideloaded.
nvm. After couple of hours it's back 😂
