How does HMD expect us to be able to use our Nokia1 with Android 10 when the phone doesn't wake up from battery???????
It's a damn cellphone. How can it be usable????????
Remember, very few Nokia1 users know about this forum. There must be thousands and thousands of Nokia1 users worldwide that have had enough and tossed this phone....
And ITS NOT THE PHONES fault. It's the buggy software that HMD keep throwing at us.
Do some research, because spending a bit over 9k can actually get you a good phone, anyways, is hard to recommend a phone without knowing what work it will be doing, so send us some examples of what this phone will be going through, then we can give you an actually got recommendation....
Phone's are good. Software updates **** the phone up. Like we've seen with the Nokia1. Oreo worked 100%. Was fast with no bugs. Now with Android 10 the phone is a mess. NOT THE PHONES FAULT. It's the crap software that HMD are putting out for these phones.
If you are on a tight budget get the Nokia 1.3 or if you are willing to spend more, to for the Nokia 5.3 or try searching in another brand that can qualify your needs...
As seems to be the case for quite a few other people too, the SD card (32GB Class 10 Sandisk, used as external storage) in my Nokia 1 (TA-1060) hasn't worked properly since the 'upgrade' to Android 10.
So far, I've tried:
Reformatting the SD card inside the phone (only ever gets to 20% progress, then says process complete and it's ready to use).
Fully reformatting the SD card in a PC several times in succession.
Using the SD card in another device to check that it's not permanently corrupted or damaged.
Doing a factory reset on the phone.
Setting the camera to save photos to the phone's own memory, in case saving them direct to the SD card is causing issues.
After all that, I'm no longer getting SD card error notifications on the phone. And, immediately after reformatting, I can save files to the SD card as normal.
However, the SD card then always stops working after a day or so (not sure if this is linked to the phone being switched off).
While the SD Card is still recognised by the phone in the Storage setting and its directories are still visible in the Files app, individual apps display an error message if they try to access the SD card. Also, some files previously saved to the SD card just disappear (e.g. offline maps for Here WeGo navigation).
Sometimes unmounting and remounting the SD card might provide a temporary solution, but usually another reformatting is necessary. Then the cycle repeats...
Does anybody know of anything else worth trying, or is it just a case of waiting and hoping that HMD fixes this bug in the January(?) update?
Do you think Android 10 has slowed down the Nokia 1. I'm not having not good experience with Android 10 on Nokia 1. Even though no apps are installed not even whatsapp is installed.
I've also found that sometimes SD card folders are visible in the Files app but not the Files By Google app (or the other way round), so it's worth checking both.
I'm done with HMD and Nokia. My phone was fine with Oreo it came with. Pie full of bugs. Phone still usable though. Android 10 a disaster. Phone restarts when trying to turn it on. Phone crashes when it feels like it. Phone can't wake up from sleeping. Phone a POS. I'm over Nokia and HMD.
I'm loosing income because of this POS phone that HMD have destroyed with their software updates. NEVER ANOTHER NOKIA.
Well, same here,I will keep this phone around until it stops receiving updates, and, when updates stop, I will go back to pie, flash TWRP and flash a go edition gsi and use it that way probably, but, as long as this gets updates, I will stick around, reporting bugs and possibly fixes for them, and, yeah, this seems to be my first and my last Nokia phone....
PS: all I'm saying is that I will use this phone until it's EOL (so make posts if you have any issues, some of us might be able to find a workaround until it is patched), and I might post a farewell when the day comes...

There is no 'full form' but basically what happened is that HMD started manufacturing phones under the name of 'Nokia'...

You complain to nokia customer service?
Yeah, but their only suggestion was to try another SD card (which I've not done yet).

I have purchased a Xiaomi 9C to replace the Nokia 1. What a huge difference in every way. The Xiaomi is fast, responsive and an absolute joy to use.
