For me: yes I can make and receive calls (I checked). This is after turning SIM lock off and rebooting.

I also cleared the cache and all storage for "phone service". But from reading your posts I think you have also done that.

Hi, greetings,, the problem of emergency callback mode has still persisted on my Nokia 2.4 phone...anybody who has found a solution to it,, kindly assist

Same thing happened to my phone, contacted HMDGlobal Support and their response is to do a Factory Reset which like everyone else did not fix the issue for good, as for me my issue is after the work around data and calls seem to work but the functionality of Voice Over LTE and Voice Over WIFI has never functioned anymore, which is a need for me as I have weak signal mostly where I live, anyone can share a way to downgrade the phone to a previous version prior the security patch, I'm thinking that may solve the issue as like everyone this only happened after an update

If anyone was successful in downgrading? if so how? I tried searching for tutorials on YouTube but none seems to work

I guess at this point we can rely only on the community as HMD has no fix yet, they're just giving generic responses

Im from the Philippines, trick seems to work but I lost the capability of Voice Over LTE and Voice Over WIFI, can anyone confirm if they are experiencing the same thing???

@Reginald Reinier Ramos I've already visited the customer care centre. According to them a downgrading of the Android software is not possible as such action will make your phone completely useless. If if this cannot be done in a service centre then I think it cannot be done by a user himself.

Few days ago I received a security update and took it. After successesfull installation and restart the phone goes in Emergency Callback Mode (initially for 5 minutes and then for infinity). Now It has lost its phone service and data service.

On tapping the notification "emergency callback mode" an option pops up- do you want to exit the emergency callback mode> on tapping yes the phone shows exiting emergency callback and starts rolling..... But nothing happens in the end.

However the data service restores itself after several restarts but calling facility has never come back...

I've done even a "factory data reset" after several restarts. Nothing helped. Then I went to the service centre but they could not help me. I asked them to restore the previous version of android but they replied that this will make my phone dead.

Contacted customer care numbers and written to nokia chat service.

Now I will write to nokia email support i.e. [email protected]

Friends, please update on the matter if you find anything useful solution.

Yes, I have SIM card lock ON. My SIM card is locked and I use Bluetooth tethering to use my Nokia without any changes. I didn't change anything on my Nokia. That helped me a lot, because I have all my data in my new Nokia and I have only factory apps on my old phone so I use it as a backup in case of emergency like this one... I hope I helped.
