[MERGED] Emergency Callback Mode

Hey,for me also the problem came back after an hour of performing that trick. But after rebooting again it's been around 30hrs working fine.

@HolyMan every time I initiate a service request to the Nokia customer care executive, they ask me for informations like IMEI number, my location, my email address, Nokia phones build number etc. No solution has yet come.
The trick working for @Rti@rtistkrishna and some other friends will not work for everyone. Actually it depends on the network service provider. And the trick also compromises the use of of voice over LTE service.
I request everyone to write on Nokia social media sites and [email protected]

Hello Nokia people!
I have the same problem with my Nokia 2.4 (model TA-1270).

A solution is available, I guess. I created a user profile here just to ensure you guys don't tear your hair out 😉.
1. The earlier observation that it was because of having a locked SIM is very likely correct. I refuse to forego that protection (my bank account is linked to a SIM card therein and cloning is rampant in my country, for unprotected cards). So that simply wasn't an option for me.
2. I booted into safe mode and found that the issue did not come up. (Safe mode only loads the android OS without extras and your installations running.) All seems to run well. Thus, nothing with the basic telephony system was wrong or the the culprit: GOOD NEWS!
3. Booting back into normal mode, the issue started again (as I expected).
4. A key effect of the problem is that any attempt to apply the airplane mode triggers that "emergency" message with a concurrent inability to actually get the airplane mode to take effect.
5. To solve this
A) Use the tray pin to eject the SIM tray while the phone is still running.
B) The rogue scripts that are interfering thus go dormant.
C) Now, apply the airplane mode. It will work now. I was simultaneously connected to my Bluetooth headset (and listening to music) when I did this, so I don't know if this is also exactly needed to effect this "cure" (though I don't think so).
D) With the airplane mode active, reinsert the SIM tray. Wait for a while (I left it for about 3 minutes).
E) Remove the airplane mode and see if the signals would be restored without the "emergency" error.
I tested, severally, putting on the SIM data mode, reapplying and removing the airplane mode. No issues.
I suspect that the sequence described above may need to be repeated whenever one reboots (which, since done —by me anyways— just about once weekly, is bearable).

Hi these tricks not working with jio India. For this issue you can use jio call app from Play Store. I am using now it's working for incoming and outgoing call.

I installed jio call app but did not work for me @Kiran Rodrigues
Another good news for all of my friends...
Nokia care called me today (01-03-2022, 01.32 pm, Indian Standard Time) and assured the problem will be resolved within 7 days. They have already stopped the said security update and within seven days a new problem free update will be issued, as told by the representative.

I thought It might be a good news for all Nokia 2.4 users who are facing Emergency Callback Mode problem, so I'm sharing the following:

Mr. Gosh..
Should we just wait after seven days the phone will be restored to normalcy status again.

Hope this really happens as this was definitely caused by the update that they provided which sure enough a patch would be the only sure way to solve the problem

already did, I just got the a runaround saying that I should contact Global Nokia Support for a warranty claim, I got someone who clearly does not know what to do

HI Ikenna, I tried your workround and it thus seem to work but my main issue is the ability of the device to use Voice Over WIFI and Voice Over LTE has never gone back, I need this features as I'm on a area were Reception is not great, routing network to WIFI works for me fine before the horrible update.
Hope you can tinker around a find a workaround that will make this feature to work again until the patch is release (Hopefully they do provide a Patch)

And here I thought I was alone ,this has just happened to me today right now as I speak I cannot access anything on my phone ,keeps taking about call back mode ,Nokia 2.4

@Reginald Reinier Ramos you are right. They've a lot of either naive people or irresponsible people as customer care executives. Most of them don't know what to do and give generic solutions without understanding the problem. Two of them asked me to visit the service centre again (which is 15 KM away from my house 🏠) so that they can talk to the service centre representative through my phone. Just imagine!

@Ngalawa write at [email protected] again and again and again. Don't stop. Flood Nokia's Twitter page with the complainant. This must reach them hard. Otherwise we don't get solution... It's their fault, not ours. They must solve it.

In troubleshooting this as you requested, I carefully reenacted all the steps (without being connected to the Bluetooth this time): I first rebooted to create the problematic situation.
It all works flawlessly! This time, I repeatedly tested voice over WiFi and over cellular data. Both, which earlier fail to work, worked perfectly after following the steps I outlined above.
I presently cannot find any problem with my Nokia 2.4 (compared to before the update), except for my need to repeat the steps after every reboot: pull out the SIM; activate airplane mode; put back the SIM; wait say 1-3min; deactivate the airplane mode. Done.
Therefore, I can only conclude that you did not follow those steps well.
