Horizontal lines beginning to appear on 11 month old Nokia 5.3

Hello,

My Nokia 5.3 has been a great phone, but recently I've noticed horizontal lines on the screen, initially this was only happening now an then but now the line persist full time.

I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or software issue but I fear it's hardware related.

    Change the wallpaper and see if this is happening.

    Well my display has screen retention problem which started after a month of using the phone. Sad to say but yours and mine problem looks like quality control issues.

    The fact is that the Display quality is not up to the mark. It can be a hardware issue or software. So I'll suggest you to wait until A11 comes, if it doesn't get fixed, then you'll have to take the phone to the nearest Nokia care center for them to check and give you a solution.

    Thanks for the comments, I think I need to take it to Nokia, it's still under warranty so hopefully it can be resolved easily.

    My nokia 5.3 6 months old,and also have horizontal lines..waiting update to see if it will be fixed.

    turn off the "Wake up the screen by double-tapping" option

    It also happened to my device also. However, after resetting my phone it went away for 1 hour and came back afterwards. I don't know whether it's related to firmware or hardware. If you are in same frustration like I've been, just do a factory reset and don't touch Display White balance settings.

    Update and Restart Your Phone. If you're already running the latest OS version on your terminal, go to the next step.

    Same problem . Very bad experience with Nokia 5.3 . Very buggy .

    I have developed this issue after the November patch. On Android 11 obviously. The phone display was fine before. Did any of you managed to solve it? Any of you went to service centre?

    Were the service centre able to fix it? I am contemplating going there. But I am worried, after reading the numerous horor stories about service centers on this forum, I have no faith in them

    Facing the same issue after the November update. Why nokia not realise a fix. I bought this phone last year 15 Nov 2020.

    Warranty is expired..


    Fix the issue or put the phone back on previous android version..

    The same thing happened to me randomly, since yesterday. I never dropped it or hit it.

    Disabling the "Double-tap to check phone" feature (Settings>System>Gestures), like @war conflict mentioned above, and charging the battery to 100% did the trick for me.


    I started noticing these horizontal lines a few weeks ago on my phone and came across this solution in the GSMArena user comments. I have since turned the double tap feature back on and the lines haven't returned yet.
