    How are you charging it? With USB cable to a PC? To a wall socket?

     Have you tried a different cable?

    Are you using the official charger and cable that shipped with the phone or a cheap third party charger and cable?


    Also remember that heat can and does affect charging speed.

    Trouble with that is if you are force stopping the battery protection you are running the risk of killing the battery. If it is charging slowly because of heat then i would grin and bear it if i am honest.


    Has anyone with charging issues tried it with the phone turned off? With the phone off and therefore not generating its own extra heat you might be able to see if it charges faster.

    Phone off (Nokia 6.1) and still very slow charge of 20% overnight, compared to full in 3 hrs previously. Tried several different cables and charges (mine is type C), and the port recognises attached cable, just wont charge at the correct rate. Will try this battery protection approach to see what happens!

    Besides checking if the behaviour is the same with a different cable, have you checked if dust, pocket lint etc. has accumulated into the USB connector, making the connection between the cable and the device poor?

    maybe i found the solution which is disable system application "battery protection" from being battery optimized :

    setting >> battery >> three dots >> battery optimization >> all apps

    and disable system application "battery protection" from being battery optimized
