    Guys try this one

    Disable Geolocation in the camera app + set photo storage to the phone internal memory. For now this works for me

    Myself also getting the same issue. Mobile also hangs oftenly.

    Try downloading google pixel camera from XDA Developers..it can create magic for 6.1 phones...it has portrait mode on rear camera...and results are amazing....

    GCam is not working fully in Nokia 6.1.
    Portrait mode not working well for selfie cam.

    try downloading the appropriate version for your mobile ,

    i tried nokia 8 app in this and it worked for nokia 6.1 ,,,...only slow motion option is not working...rest everything works fine.thanks

    This is frustrating, the phone hangs but they will not accept is a phone issue and return you the money, it seems we can be years waiting for a solution, and they will probably leave us without it.

    Count me as on of the users affected by this issue. GCam did not resolve it. I don't have an SD card in the phone so that is not the cause. I just disabled the location tagging, will see if that helps.

     I seem to be having the best luck with Open Camera from the Play Store. The GCam/Pixel camera APKs were little better than stock Camera. Even with Open Camera some apps that use the camera still crash. This sucks and must be fixed!

    well how about that. turning location off really does help. But after i turned off location permit for camera, i ha d to start camera app and it asked location permit. just deny and now WhatsApp camera works well enough again.

    Try Google Camera apk for good Portrait and Google Motion Features.
    googlecamera-pixel2mod-arnova8g2-v7-final.apk
    is very good as compared to old one.Its having portrait features very good.Lens Blur not working but we got portrait mode very useful and google motion is fantastic.Try Everyone This Google Apk Very nice.I am fall in love.

    I do have the same problem. Camera hangs. Bought this phone just this month from supreme mobiles Coimbatore. Only 23 days earlier

    Phone itself had bad software, hangs, or keep a long time to respond on simple app change. If I was able to I would chose to change it for another phone. I hope I had the common sense to buy a Xiaomi and not this one. Support just see to pee on us.

    Ramkumarrrj and user1532336531065 both you need ccleaner or All In One Toolbox which is RAM/Cache Cleaner.I am using 4GB/64GB Variant 85% Used Space till now never gets hang issues.I am using ccleaner daily so my device never lagging.Also Using Google Apk for Best Portrait Photos On Rear Camera.

    Ok. Just installed latest security update yesterday. There was 2 of them i think. Anyway with whatsapp the camera now works like it should. Dont know if reboots with navigation are fixed.

    nothing is fixed for me, wont even say I hope September update or Pie fixes it bc at this point, its been over four and a half months of this.

    I am also having camera issue. I took bad decision of selecting Nokia 6.1.. worst performance..

    Nothing is fixed for me. Comment with link to a video was probably removed or forum also lags =)
    search YouTube for "Nokia 6.1 lags" too see how to reproduce the issue.

    Tomorrow I will try to repair it in service center

    Yes same here
    My phone even sometimes frezze totally when i launch a camera app
    And when i see my phones uses 2.3Gb of Ram when i don't use it that's the shittiest Ram managment ever
    And if i close all apps with square button how a support told me nothing changes a phone still hangs
    My first Samsung GT-I5800 with 256Mb Ram never ever hang or frezze when i take photos and now with 3Gb Ram we all hangs??? What a joke

     I "fixed" mine by removing *all* permissions from the Camera app and installing Open Camera from the Play Store. Nokia still needs to fix this major problem, though.

    Not only the camera app is hanging... Whenever the camera is being opened any other apps it also hangs the phone. Me myself is a regular Instagram user and whenever I accidentally launch the camera it hangs the phone for 5 mins making it unresponsive to anything.... Pls fix this.

    I can confirm it is not only the camera app. I usually use the Walmart app to pay in store when I shop there. As soon as I launch Walmart Pay inside the app, it tries to use the camera and the app freezes or the entire phone freezes. Switch to a new phone now because it got so bad. Still have the Nokia that I would give to my daughter to play with, but she would want to use the camera so it is completely useless.

     I was able to fix mine. Read my post 4 prior to this one. All you have to do is set another camera app as default (I use Open Camera), and then disable *all* permissions from the built-in Camera app. Location, storage access, etc. You then can stop worrying about it.



    Nokia, you need to get your act together on this one and fix the obviously widespread problem!
