Nokia 7 plus - sd card - camera - google photos app BUG

when u have SD card in your phone and u shot a photo then u want to preview your shot right after you shot the photo it won't show the photo normally and google photos app will get black/blank screen with no button . when there is no SD card in phone everything just works fine ( no matter u save photos on SD card or Internal card ) for fixing this problem u have to fully remove the SD card from the phone . this device have latest updates available . there was not such a problem in android 8 .

i capture video from my Nokia 7 plus screen so others can understand this problem/bug.

if u guys have SD card please try to use it and test this problem/bug maybe you have same problem because i think it's software bug not hardware related .

for more information : i already use recovery menu to wipe data and reset factory .

Using SD card .. from the very first day but no issues so far... like this. I suggest to use a minimum class 10 SD card... & check if the card has any corruption or problem.

Thank you for the reply i test with 2 sd cards one is 16gb silicon power hc class 10 and another one pny 32gb class 10 hc . The first photo or even third time you preview it's working fine but after that not working anymore . I can't buy new sd card for this test because 100% its software bug some how .

I bought phone it was android 8 i think i test camera in the store with sd card on but no problem . What is your sd card name and size ? If i saw somewhere that kind or brand of sd card i will test it for this bug.

SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC class 10 .. 98MB/s.
If its bug it will hit everyone soo surely local issue if it continously happens to U. Hope no anti-virus or background scanning apps installed in ur device. U can also restart phone to safe mode then find if the problem persists.

Yeah i will try safe mode to see will this problem gone or not . But weird thing is i can use my sd cards in other apps gallery video music no problem at all maybe this bug happened only to me i hope its because of my sd card model . But even after factory reset in recovery menu before installing any other apos the problem was still there. I will try safe mode then i will go for another high quality sd card to test . I will post here again the result . Thank you for the reply .

Everything works fine in safe mode i don't what is the cause of this problem , what kind of apps or service is disabled in safe mode ? For sure its default apps that came from android pie . What do you think ?wyk said:

The problem is still there even in safe mode but the only thing happened here is this problem won't happen too much in safe mode but in normal mode happened more frequently than safe mode . I confirm this problem is still there even in safe mode but happened a less than normal mode .

Sounds like issue with ur SD card.....if possible arrange a fresh high speed SD card and check for the same ....

I have 2 micro sd cars with class 10 hc . But i think the problem is about google photos app bug maybe premission ? I have to grant acess for photos app i rearead about it somewhere let me see . But i can't go to a store and say please let me test this sd card that works for me or not ! I have to buy to test it and if it was software bug its not a good idea to test a bug.

I really know its a software bug even if my sd card speed is not good why should this happen ? Because i use internal memory for taking photos not sd card !!! Google photos leave my sd card alone please !!!

Hey man , the problem is still there no matter sd card is in the phone or not , without sd card its happening less but the problem is still there i thinthink its graphical render that google photos are using or something else related to memory no matter internal or sd card . Im 100% sure its a bug from google photos i hope nokia les us choose another app for preview the photo we just shot it just force us to use google photos and its buggy

If its happening only when SD card is inserted ...its too tough to say its a bug as its happening to U only.... nobody has reported such. So rather buying u can arrange a Card to check for the same.

I said its even happening without sd card but too much less with sd card happening more 100% its google photos app try to do something else instead of show me the photo .there was not such a problem in android 8 and there is no downgrade way from nokia they said go to nokia care but there is no nokia care here in my whole country

If its happening without SD card even in safe mode & after hard reset.... then i am afraid ur device is faulty needs to be checked by care service. There is no other option.

The faulty device is not only have problem after update to android 9.0 but should have that problem in android 8 but there was no problem like that in android 8 so you think my device is faulty ? That's so clear where the problem came from Google photos and nokia camera that force us to use only google photos for preview our shots .wyk said:

Which month's security patch u Lastly received? Is Ur google photos app up to date?

U can always manually rollback to Oreo by sign into nokia developers' page.

as I said earlier if its bug then it will hit all other devices but as u see none is reporting this issue. .. i tried Samsung & strontium SD card but haven't faced such issue... with out SD card also.

I don't know maybe nokia 7 plus have different revisions i even tested other nokia seven plus at the store the place i bought the phone was android pie and same problem there too and the store told me they will fix this on next update , i i ha 1 december security update . it's funny when sd card is in the device this bug happened more and for the developer page i didn't know about that i even ask nokia care how to downgrade to android 8 they said you can't do that your self . And for notice google bycut iran country is some services maybe google photos try to connect to google servers and get access denied . Right now i feel i wasted my money i even played 3d games because u said my device is fualty so i though maybe its gpu problem but nothing happened in game like pubg asphalt 9 everything working fine expect the most important part for me camera and photography . install & enjoy. Even google camera is way better than Nokia's camera. U can also use any 3rd party camera app from play store. 😃

But the only way you can have 4 second long exposure is in nokia camera app , nokia limited 3rd party apps to 1/4 second long exposure nokia please hear us if you want to create camera app just ask someone knows about photography at least !!! And they will told you 4 second is not long enough .

I will wait for next update if problem still exist in next update i will roll back to android oero .

I have the same problem with the camera app, and google photo!

...and i'm very disappointed about that

Black screen on the preview of the camera, lag and missing photos on google photo (it seems like it needs a lot of time to synchronize), impossible to edit pictures on google photo because it will cause black screen and loading icon (infinite loading).

I have this problem for a long time, and I waited a long time for an update, but nothing seems to have been solved.

This smartphone was promoted for its best camera, and blah blah, but the camera it's the only thing that cause problem on this device.

They made thousand of update on the camera app, but every time there are problems or bugs.

I really don't know why they can't simply copy other camera app, like the one on Samsung or One Plus, that have more settings and they work fine.

Like Mojtaba97 I bought this smartphone because of the "amazing" camera but i think next time i will move on another brand..

Why do you think safemode or hard reset or factory reset can fix an app bugg ? Why ? This is 100% bug from google photos app . Don't act like internet service providers like did you reset your modem !?

For those who have same problem i just reset factory my phone again bu the bug is still there , after i copy some photo from pc to pictures folder the problem came back i dont know its because the photos file that i export from adobe lightroom in pc have some problems or anything like that so i just get that bug again after i cocopy that photos ( canon camera and lightroom pc export ) or it's because of the file size or because of the number of files or anything like that the problem just came after i copy high quality jpg files from pc into my phone , so i will try to use another software in pc to convert that jpg file so maybe the problem is because of the format of that files , i hope it was not because of number of photos . I just share this information maybe others can fox tthis problem/bug. Good luck all

Same problem here bro ....waited for software updates...tried to reset many times...cleared cache many time ......tryed every possible solisolut...no use....its a bug in google photos... sometimes clicked pic do not save....someti som balnk screens... sometimes photos never show even though its in storage.....any solution guys?

Hey , just for the test , can you do something ? Mine is fixed now what i did is : reset factory ( wipe data in recovery menu but 3 or 4 times in 1 time ) after setup .... I didnt use any sd card . Don't copy any photos from pc to your phone . Maybe there is a bug that some jpg format make this cause or use some software to convert your photos again so maybe the problem gone , it was fixed for me but right after i copy 180 number photos ( canon camera ) to my phone the problem came back right after i delete the photos i copied to my phone problem fixed . Even i ususe sd card to save my photoa but everything works fine now .

I found the same situation too ...the problem started to appear when i received pics from another phone via bluetooth...also while downloading some pics from cloud storage...but why this happens? Even 3rd party developers could make awesome gallery app .then why cant a big company like Google atleast fix the bugs....its a shame..

Maybe it's nokia phone hardware problem or google photos can't handle many files . I hope google fix this photos app or at least nokia ccamera let us choose the default photo viewer because if you even fully disable the google photos in nokia camecamera u can't preview your shot , but nokia can add an option for use to choose which app for preview your shots .
