Restarting while charging nokia 7+ Fix

in Nokia 7 plus
i had this problem and i know there is a good number of people having this same issue in here. In my case, i found that the original charger that came with it was the issue. I used one of my old ipod charger and I never had mine restart while charging. Worked pretty well with other android chargers too.
Will others with the same issue try this fix and confirm? Thanks.

    If I am not wrong  Durin charge I think over heating can auto restart the phone to save battery and phone itself.

    Yes, @user1543768993488 . With other chargers, restart issue not happening.
    Only with given Nokia charger, the device restarts.

    Edit:   I have used another fast charging adapter, that also restarts the device.

    From my analysis, Only when power supply is low, this restart is not happening.


    Can we expect a quick fix from Nokia ? 
    This is a software or hardware issue..? Any idea?

    Latest Update:

    I have found the case reboot happening

    "Reboots when the device is fast charging for about 3 minutes continuously. The temperature is normal only (39°C)"

    "It is a software bug. Not any hardware related issue"

    Fast Charging will happen only if your screen is turned off. If your screen is ON, device will not fast charge and it will not reboot.

    To verify, plug your charger and dont use the device for 3+ minutes. The device will reboot.

    Hope Nokia will roll out the fix soon.


    Will Nokia developers check this forum comment ?

    I turnoff Auto rotate before connecting charger and it does not heat up.

    @user1514722700677 :  It seems heating is not the reason for this issue. It even restarts in normal temperature. Please check my previous comment.

    Workaround for now, to avoid restarting:

    Use normal charging adapter ( charging speed< 1000 mA/sec )

    [OR]

    Use your mobile while charging ( If the mobile screen is ON while charging, Turbo charge will not happen. Thus, restart will not happen 🙂  ).


    P.s: I m using "AccuBattery" app to find charging speed in mA/sec .


    Please contact Nokia support and share the above link (as I did). As they receive many requests on the same, chances are more to get a fix soon.

    If anyone find anyother case, please share here.

    Hoping to get a fix from Nokia soon.

    Mine rebooted whilst using, I am on Android P, whilst in safe mode, whilst powered off. All usually under 80% I get the issue, factory reset didnt work, nor rotation off. I cant say if its heat or not, didnt really check all that, but if its off it shouldnt get that hot, assuming.

    I'm having the same issues.
    Only happens when I use quick charging and the battery is under 80%.
    I tried factory reset, rebooting in safe mode, deleting recently installed apps...(not in that order).
    It restarts when I'm using the phone and when I'm not.
    I can't pinpoint the exact time the problem started, but it seems to have started with Pie.
    The only workaround is using a regular charger (not quick charger). I bought a fast charge phone. That's what I expect to be able to do. It's an extremely useful feature. I hope this will be resolved soon.

    Same story here, it is quite annoying to be honest. The phone reboots if I use the quick charge, I tried everything (auto-rotate, plane mode, factory reset, etc...)
    I even sent it to their repair centre (!), it came back with nothing done as, according to HMD, there was nothing wrong.
    I have to say that I have no idea when this issue happened but I hope it is only a SW issue.

    Started having this problem after the april update. Even when the device is not overheated, it restarts itself. And screen on or screen off doesn't change anything. Also charging speed is reduced now. This is so freaking annoying. Can't even use the damn phone.

    It has started happening to me as well since April. I stop charging once it has rebooted. so far 4 occurrences. I think I will start using my old normal charger to see if fast charging is the problem.

    Also happening to me since April. I confirm it happens on any fast charger (tried Nokia, Samsung, Xiaomi & Huawei), and that it doesn't happen on old chargers (~1000mA). Anyone found a fix?

    Agreed, if you use your regular charges, in my case Nexus 5 charger, there is not heating or restart issues. so I guess the problem is actually with fastcharge causing too much heating.

    I found the same restart case continue while charging in my nokia 7 plus since may 16. I thought it's because of untrusted apps so I uninstall all and the problem still didn't solve. May be it's because of software issues.... We trust Nokia because it always promises that it's pure, secure and up-to-date hope the hmd global will find out the solution and fixed it soon.

    Reset app preference

    Mine is everything ok after this.

    Bluetooth issue.

    Reboot while connecting charger
